Diggs isn’t nearly as good as Jalen Ramsey. If you get me a Jalen Ramsey 2 firsts and a fourth I'd do it. Then again, how well did that turn out for the Jags?

Well the entire discussion is based on make believe because Jerry won’t ever trade him, it’s not how he operates. It’s an academic discussion of whether he SHOULD operate that way, and if we are operating in hypotheticals I can posit that the scenario which would make sense is one where we also hypothetically sign free agents from other teams.Your scenario doesn't exist. We don't sign talented free agents.
Don't get me started on Zeke. I was against paying him. RBs are simple. Should have ran him hard for 5 years and moved on.Just a reminder that we probably would have been better off trading DeMarcus Lawrence for a first and a third like Frank Clark went for, and we would have been better off trading Ezekiel Elliott instead of giving him that huge contract too. Too often these guys get big paydays that you can see coming are bad value.
Diggs is not older or on the verge of breaking down like Lawrence or Elliott but there are plenty of reasons to be concerned about handing him $100m, which is what he is gonna cost. At least.
Lawrence made the Pro Bowl this year and has been one of our most important players, a 1+3 for him back in 2018 or whatever is no guarantee to be a net positive.Just a reminder that we probably would have been better off trading DeMarcus Lawrence for a first and a third like Frank Clark went for, and we would have been better off trading Ezekiel Elliott instead of giving him that huge contract too. I don't think they are all that far apart. Just not the tackler Ramsey is. It's a bad time to be defending Diggs because it wasn't a great game for him. But he has had some stellar games this year and is a big piece to this defense. I'm not jumping ship on a guy after one sort of down game. Anyway, I'll talk about it when the season is over. Just like the draft. This season isn't over for us yet.Diggs isn’t nearly as good as Jalen Ramsey.
Think Seattle using the first for LJ Collier to replace him.Lawrence made the Pro Bowl this year and has been one of our most important players, a 1+3 for him back in 2018 or whatever is no guarantee to be a net positive.
It could be of course, but it could also just be two average starters like LVE and Odighizuwa, or worse.
Well…. It’s very similar for corners. Not wise to overpay them.Don't get me started on Zeke. I was against paying him. RBs are simple. Should have ran him hard for 5 years and moved on.
Lawrence is a “nice” player but not anything close to a $100m player. The last four years he’s had 5, 6, 3, and 6 sacks. That’s like Dante Fowler off the scrap heap production as a pass rusher. Not so sure on Lawrence. I still think he is a pretty important piece. Even if the sacks aren't all there. Again, what did the Seahawks get in the end for Frank Clark? Fucking Collier at DE? 3 career sacks. When you trade the stud for a chance to replace him, it's a bad
strategy.
I would take another LVE and Odigizuwa over Lawrence at $100m. He made a pro bowl on name recognition. I would argue that LVE and Odigizuwa are just as important to our defense as Lawrence.Lawrence made the Pro Bowl this year and has been one of our most important players, a 1+3 for him back in 2018 or whatever is no guarantee to be a net positive.

If Jalen Ramsey is worth 2 firsts and a fourth I could see a team paying a 1 and a 2 for DiggsIt'd be pretty shocking if we could get a 1+2 for Diggs.
And I would take that all day, with another cheaper veteran CB, and return with Bland, Muk, Brown, Lewis, and a veteran or two. Maybe Kelvin Joseph or Wright can contribute something. If Jalen Ramsey is worth 2 firsts and a fourth I could see a team paying a 1 and a 2 for Diggs
Diggs is a guy that can pick off 10 passes though. And honestly he plays on an island a lot. Hell we even move him around to cover teams best receivers. Their is a lot more value to that than you're giving credit.Unless you are picking off 10+ passes or being Deion Sanders, it’s more important to have depth than high end talent at CB.
Your thoughts towards the cornerback position are taken with a very large grain of salt.First of all, we are talking about corner
Yea Purdy has been off on a good number of his throws but has gotten away with a lot of it with other teams dropping easy picks. Most of his production has come from schemed up shit from Shannahan with guys like Deebo eating up YAC, simple in-breaking slants/digs and scrambling around on broken plays.Went back and rewatched the all 22 of the 49ers and a lot of Purdys throws are way off. Seattle basically ran into the line every single play. Dak has nothing to worry about if he comes out sharp. Their corners are flat out bad. This is one game we need to come out throwing. If we run our RBs straight into to the middle of the lane like Seattle we will be putting ourselves behind down and distance.
