The point isn't to denigrate Pollard.

The point is that Phil was trying to credit the offense's resurgence since Dak came back in part to Pollard's increased touches. So it makes sense to look at an example of when Pollard didn't play well to see if it affected the offense's production, and it didn't.

In other words, if Pollard's increased touches were a big part of the offense's resurgence as Phill suggests, then it would follow that the offense would struggle when Pollard struggled and it didn't.
so in this particular game, the offense was also helped greatly by Zeke's best game of the year.

Zeke's best game of the year was probably against the eagles but it's debatable. He's had a good season overall. He and Pollard both have, it's a good combination.

I can't tell you how many times in the chatter thread I called him "sprout". He looked great.

That's really my only complaint. I've seen some growth and maturity in his game that hasn't been there before. If he can clean up the turnovers, he'll be fucking scary.
Throwing 2 INTs in a win or go home game probably isn’t going to work out to our favor. I’m hoping he figures that shit out sooner than later.

If he scores 28 still and the INTs don't set up immediate easy scores I think it would actually be ok.

I thought that was just a West Texas use of the word I'd never heard before...

Against the Giants it worked.
Yeah I guess the point I'm trying to make is it's important for Dak to be aggressive. Playing conservative to avoid turnovers isn't going to win you the big games. So if our offense is moving the ball and scoring lots of points, I'll take the risks overs scoring 17 but not turning the ball over.

Pollard didn't swing the needle. The offense went as Dak went.
What's the difference between the offense in games 2-6 and now? It's pretty silly to suggest anything other than the QB1.
The combination of your statements strongly communicates that Pollard’s performance is inconsequential.

Nobody has to defend Pollard here, I'm not putting him down.
How can you not be putting down Pollard if you deem his production irrelevant?
This isn't to denigrate Pollard. He's been good overall, I'm not disputing that.
Per your rationale, why does it matter if Pollard has been good?

Nobody claims that Pollard’s production alone is a sufficient and necessary condition to a productive offense. Yes, our offense can put up points with a meager Pollard game. To @Iamtdg ’s point, that’s the nature of todays game, if a QB is throwing for big yardage, TDs and no turnovers

However, Dak hasn’t even thrown for 300 yards in the last five games and hasn’t thrown more than 30 pass attempts in the four wins. Dak Prescott has been efficient and can afford to play within himself in part possible because of Pollard’s production in three of those four wins (with Zeke out or not 100%).

Substitute Pollard in those three wins with Dowdle/Davis and you think our offense would’ve been just as successful?

We're not talking about any of that.

The difference between the offense under Rush and under Dak is Dak, not Pollard.

As for what you are saying here, basically your argument wasn't switching to Pollard from Dowdle/Davis, it was from Zeke.

Had Zeke been healthy and playing the entire time that Dak was back, and gotten the same snaps he always usually gets, yes it would have been essentially the same results. As evidenced by the Thanksgiving game.

That's actually a compliment to Pollard because as you know I think quite a bit of Zeke.

Yeah, we overcame those first half blunders vs the Giants but I doubt we're going to be able to do the same in the playoffs against a really good team.

He's got to cut the picks out.
