He is a moron. You fall short, you identify reasons why.

Getting rid of Cooper and Collins did not address why we lost that game.
No and it would be different if you were dumping those two to then reinvest those resources on talent at other positions. Like hey, we don't need to spend this much at WR, we need to become a team that focuses on running the ball more and protecting the QB,let's use the money to get better on the O-line or D-line or whatever. Get worse at one spot in an attempt to get better at another. That makes sense. You can't use Cooper, Lamb and Gallup if you can't protect Dak for example. So better to pay for the protection so that you can actually use the weapons you have to their full potential. I would actually understand that. Instead he basically says, we freed up the resources incase an opportunity comes up at some point. Well shit, it's not doing anything to help you win right now.

Your may not be able to win it but you can sure hamper your efforts to win it.
Well and the sad thing is there is a bit of luck to the whole thing too. So you may have the talent to win a Superbowl but not win it. The ball bounced wrong, the refs made some bad calls or whatever. So I just despise the notion that, well we didn't win with this team last year so let's dump guys. You could run the exact playoffs and teams again from last year and there is a good chance the Rams don't win it. That's life in the NFL.

I bet he couldn't even answer that and he has three in the case.
Obviously there's no proven formula, but sitting back afraid to spend money is keeping your team from filling necessary holes.

Unless we were just so by gawd talented that getting rid of Amari and La'El finally frees up those who were being held down to flourish.

Does he think anybody believes his bullshit?

You can go into the draft "pure" with James Washington slated to start for the first 3-5ish games of the year and McGovern slated to start at LG?
Technically McGovern already started games last year, but I agree OL is shallow. The team pretty much has to draft one in the first two rounds, if not just the first round.

DE/Edge is also very weak. We're back to Lawrence getting triple teamed at this point.

He won't, because if they did that Parsons would kill the QB every time. Parson's literally might be the best pass rusher in the NFL. His win rate was like the highest in the NFL last year. And no it doesn't have to be by playing DE on the other side. Just bring him from anywhere. Which sort of prevents the double teams like you are mentioning for Lawrence.

And I am far from the biggest fan of Armstrong but he isn't a total scrub. He can get pressure and he can make plays. He isn't Randy Gregory but he isn't just a turd out there. Frankly Golston is going to need to step up. He played meaningful snaps last year. He had a play here or there. It's his second year and he was a third round pick. He needs to become more.

And Fowler, well he is just icing on the cake. Now we will get another pass rusher in this draft. I'm confident of that. But I wouldn't be as extreme as you say.

Yeah, I keep ignoring Fowler when I should at least consider him.

We will see cumulative improvement from all the 2021 defensive rookies in 2022 for sure.

It's used carsalesman talk. Similar numbers are not the same thing as similar production. He says it because he wants people to equate the two guys like there isn't much difference.

And the difference is last year we had Dorance Armstrong and Gregory. This year we only have Armstrong. You're not replacing one with the other. Armstrong was part of the pass rush last year with Gregory. What you're really doing is replacing Gregory with Fowler. Or you could view it as replacing Gregory with Armstrong and replacing Armstrong with Fowler.

It's a ridiculous thing to say.

Von Miller was one of the opportunities that came up "at some point" last season.

This off-season, Von Miller was available. We didn't sign him.

I guess we can't sign a Von Miller because we have to save those resources in case an opportunity comes up...it might even be Von Miller!
