I’m spending my first pick up front. Give me the best OT or DT and call it a night. Scrap the Connor Williams project, fuck La’el Collins feelings and put him back at LG. Smith, Steele and a rookie at the tackles.

Which ever of these names will fix our LG problem... send in the card.
The big question is do the coaches think Collins can play LG?

If so a guy like Penning makes a lot more sense at 24, if not then you're hoping for a guy like Kenyon Green to fall, and if not then Zion Johnson who would probably slot in at LG pretty seamlessly.

Kenyon Green is probably my top choice at 24 of the "realistic" guys, although it's probably only about 50/50 that he's even there.

I refuse to believe we are already looking towards the draft. Refuse, I tell you.

I'd rather talk draft than one of the 8 NFL teams not named the Cowboys still in the playoffs. Fuck the playoffs at this point so might as well talk draft and free agency.

This is like dating a week after burying your husband. We need time to mourn.
No man this is the equivalent of being married every year to a different wife and burying her at the end of the year….at some point it just becomes pretty much the norm. Really don’t need any time for reflection or mourning.

OL, DT, RB, some sort of scat back/WR combo, S, DE.
Get them in the draft or via FA.
The small window we do have, even if it’s with Dak, is closing quickly.

So I'll make a little list as well. It will probably have some names on it that you will scoff at and say there is no way they are available at pick 24 or whatever. But a lot of this stuff is going to shake up before the draft still. I bolded the ones I'd have on my list as well. Not sure how I feel about Dean yet. I really like Cox so I'm not pushing the issue with an undersized LBer who I think will be gone by our pick anyway. So I'll leave him off but I get it. He is a projected top 10 pick at LBer and played on a stellar defense.

I'm not a big Travon Walker fan but I am a big George Karlaftis fan. No idea how he didn't finish with more sacks but the guy is a beast. I also really like Ekwonu the guard/OT from NC State. The guy is an absolute road grader and according to McShay at least is the 21st best player. So I give him a shot at being available. Plus he has the ability to step in and start day one at LG and possibly play OT down the road.

I love me some Cameron Thomas as well. I think he is really good as a full fledged base DE who can shift inside and rush the passer as well.

Penning I go back and fourth on. I see his body side and type and he strikes me as an NFL RT for some reason. But I'll have to watch more. Tall, white OT's just all seem to fall into that same category for me and I'm probably no expert on evaluating them. I think of him as a more physical Josh Ball for example and I don't know why.

Oh and I'm definitely looking at RBs in the third round and after. No reason to burn top picks but a good young RB would give us more than Zeke can. Plain and simple in my opinion. So if I'm making picks I'm at least making the coaches see that. RB's are hard to gauged where they will go in the draft. I don't know if any will go in the first. Breece Hall is probably gone by the third but I love him. I really like Kenneth Walker III in the third if he is still around. Maybe a Hassan Haskins down the draft a little. Or a Jerome Ford. I'll be curious to see how some of these guys look running.

If Karlaftis or Ekwonu are there they are certainly in the "run to the podium" category, I just don't think there's any chance they will be so I didn't include them.

As far as Walker, I'd be fine with him at 24 but I think I prefer Thomas as well.

The interesting thing about the Senior Bowl is that a lot of these guys will be there (Penning, Zion Johnson, Cameron Thomas, Jermaine Johnson) and that will either solidify them as late 1's or knock them down into the early/mid-2nd range.

There are also a few guys like Devonte Wyatt, Logan Hall and Arnold Ebiketie who I love in the 2nd who I'd consider in the 1st with a big Senior Bowl performance, perhaps after trading down 5-10 spots.

I’m not up on any of these players, but we need speed at RB. If the Rams and others can successfully use 205-210 pound RBs, then so can the Cowboys. No need for 235 pound plodding RBs as your main guy. I know Zeke slimmed down a bit in 21 but unfortunately he’s worn out. Too late.
Watching the Rams offense fly all over the field last night made me jealous.
