Well he won a Super Bowl. He comes here and is stunningly average. You can expect that no matter who they hire. It’s a curse here. You can fire him and get Payton, same thing. You could go import Belichick and he won’t turn the team’s fortunes around.
He won a SB because he had Rodgers. But you are right, the dysfunction in Dallas hamstrings every coach right out of the gate. No doubt about that. It’s also why you’ll never see a Payton or Belichik or Reid or Harbaugh in Dallas.
Probably the only shot we have is taking a flyer on a young dynamic college coach who will come in and try to properly scheme the talent we do have.

Unfortunately leading the league in penalties has nothing to do with MM.
It has everything to do with that …. A head coach is supposed instill his style of play to his team … if he stresses discipline and focus .. his team should be following suit ….MM ain’t that guy and it reared it’s ugly head yet 1 more time .. and cost us the playoffs AGAIN

It needs to be more.
It won't be. Come training camp we will have the circus again and Jerry will see that as affirmation. Thats all he needs.

I guess dumb ass fans are going to continue to whine about the last play. The team came out flat in a win or go home game. That is the real issue.
its mind boggling. The single biggest game of the season, and thud...

Sturm sums it up. You reach a stage in life where you just stop giving a shit. Each of us has only so much emotional capital. Why invest any of it in a organization run by Jerry Jones? Why invest any of it in a team that folds up at crunch time every year?

Get past it, move on. Who cares?

I have had that same conversation with multiple people since last night.

I mean almost every top offense and QB has a running game. We had one of the best offenses in the NFL and could barely run the ball for half the season.

At this point I don't care how much the QB makes. We need a run game, it's pretty simple.
The good thing is even with a $40M QB a running game can be built fairly cheaply. It just takes having a competent OL and experienced coaches who are actually committed adding some creativity to the play designs.

Joe Philbin should be on the hot seat, IMO. Aside from Tyron Smith's annual rash of injuries, the OL was relatively healthy the entire season yet they probably turned in the worst performance by a Cowboys OL since 2010.

Last year he got the benefit of the doubt because of all the injures. No such excuse this year. I know he's a McCarthy guy but they need to seriously explore other options for that OL coach position.

Found this. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for our $40 mill qb:

Following the game, a 49ers defender admitted that the team’s defense wanted to make Prescott attempt to beat them.

“We went in there and did what we needed to do: Stop the run and force them to be one-dimensional. See if Prescott could win the game for them,” 49ers player Jimmie Ward said.

I missed it during the game but I'd still love to know why the ref is standing their preventing them from snapping the ball.

It looked like the ref was confused and expecting the Cowboys O to come back onto the field. So he just stood there burning away our time.

His job is to spot the ball then get the hell out of the way. It's the Cowboys' prerogative if they left the ST unit on the field, not the refs.

Awful.
