Young has been out for 2 months, in which time their defense has played their best ball, relatively speaking.

So yea, I don't think him being out made much of a difference, they still had 3 1st round picks on the DL, including Allen who is probably going to be 1st Team All-Pro.

ok, that at LEAST makes sense.

It's not so much him running as being more decisive in moving, I realized last night that it's more pocket presence and making quick decisions than just purely looking to run. He ran a few times last night but it was the decisiveness to move out of the pocket, which could potentially end up being a run, but it also turns into plays like the Gallup shot downfield.

Most of the year he's been hesitant to use his legs and I think that's affected his mental clock as well as his pocket presence, hopefully he's starting to round into form with the playoffs approaching because last night looked like the Dak we're used to seeing.
Well said. And for all the Chase Young love the guy has 1.5 sacks this season. I know he is a talented guy and all but his impact for the Skins this season has been almost nothing. They haven't had him for a long time. This wasn't some recent development.

This was about Dak though and him having the confidence to run, the confidence to see the pass rush and move effortlessly to escape guys. It also was about Dak having the balls to take some of those tight window throws against a shell coverage. It was great to see. The hurry up is definitely where Dak is most comfortable and I love that we came out doing it.

Dak said somewhere last night that this is the best he's felt physically since before the season. It was obvious he was moving better, more confidently and his mechanics were clearly better. Get Tyron back without having to worry about McGovern rolling on his ankle again, we might have something.

Just shut up. This was a damn good win. We stepped on their throats from the very beginning and never took our foot off the entire game.

if your standards are low yea its a great win.

sorry if i expect better from my team while you are whooping it up on beating a depleted team. Hey but you beat them soundly. Good for low standards.

WHen DLaw gets no sacks, we are running up the excuses. Young does have his days and he has his impact. Im just trying to understand as the board has decreed it, "beat a bad team, you are back on track, lose to a good team, and its something else"

makes no sense, but gets them through the easy wins.

I mean we have won 4 straight games. When we were doing that it was yeah they won but Dak sucks. Last night we did everything right and now it's, well it's against the Skins. You can only play who you are scheduled to play and there is nothing to complain about from last night.

Now go beat the Cards. But I'm sure if we do that it will be, well the Cards have been sucking. Or some other reason why the win means nothing.

Truth is nothing really matters at this point except the playoffs. We are just trying to get ready for the playoffs and last night was a step in the right direction.

so what were you expecting from this game, besides discounting the required scheduling of a team that happens to be in shit shape right now? What were the Cowboys supposed to do? Play them closer, barely eek out a win?

It was the largest margin of victory in the entire Cowboys/Redskins rivalry, yes, they are depleted to some extent, but we've been missing multiple key players throughout large portions of the year.

This type of performance was different than your run of the mill 10 point win against a so-so team.

i totally agree with this.

yes it was a step in the right direction, but again, as ive been asking the board, does beating bad teams make you good? no one will answer that and rightly so, there is no answer. However as i was talking to a Cardinals fan, the Cardinals werent able to beat the Colts so beating Dallas might get harder because Dallas will be riding momentum and that effect to some fans, can make a difference. Pound for pound when healthy, the Cardinals are a good team this year. At this moment, the Cardinals are not putting it together, so if they beat us, they got it together against a bad team, and if we win, the Cardinals are watching their seaosn go off the rails.

It all makes a difference, but if posters listen to the media, they really dont touch on a lot of things because they need the NFL so they dont want to upset teams.

we as fans dont care.

For the past two decades, most of our fans have accepted the Culture of Mediocridity and are happy with it.

if we lose next week, we beat a depleted bad team.

if we win, SB gods.

im just no impressed we beat a bad team. im not out there screaming "WE RE GOING TO LOSE OUR COACHES BECAUSE EVERY NFL TEAM WILL WANT THEM:

Sorry i dont get excited.

For me, this seaosn depends on how the playoffs go

We did what we had to do, lose to some good teams and lose to some average teams but we had enough bad teams to win on. And we beat the Chargers, thats a good team. That was a very good win, however, one injury, we crap the bed most times. this year was different in some regards, but for me, its coming down to what matters, can Dallas turn it around in teh playoffs. thats the deciding factor for me, beating on bad teams, yea thats what your supposed to do and a few times, Dallas couldnt do that, but they eeked out enough wins to look impressive, so thats how we treat it.

Maybe for some, next week's performance doesn't really change my opinion much one way or the other unless it's an extreme ass-whipping, similar to this past game, or an extreme egg similar to the Broncos.

I know where you're coming from and I understand it. Thing is, if all of us only look at the playoffs every year, then it's pretty easy to spin it that every team but one choked in the playoffs. If we get to the the nfc championship game and lose, is that a choke job? Does it depend on how we play? What if we play a great game and lose. What if we play a mediocre game but win. It's all rather nebulous when it's one loss and you're out.

It leaves a lot of room to promote whatever narrative you want. This team can't get it done. This team got it done but Dak didn't win it by himself. Dak played great but the team let him down. The defense sucked and the offense couldn't score enough points. The coaches sucked but the players saved their ass. Coaching was great players sucked. Defense was amazing, offense sucked. Ad Nauseum.

As I've gotten old, I just try to enjoy each game for what it is. I really compartmentalize the entire experience. Games that we shit the bed, I take hard for a day or two and then I'm okay. Looking for the next win. We're lucky enough to have a really good team that has a chance to win it all. It hasn't always been that way, and it won't always be that way.

2 cents.

You can measure success how you wish, but everyone has to play at least 17 games. We’ve won 11 of 15. That’s acceptable to me, and this far I’d call this a good season for any team. If the playoffs are your measuring stick, that’s fine. That’s the smallest glimpse of a season possible, and discounts everything accomplished to actually get to the postseason.
