Bored at work, so here is a list of potential HC Candidates:

Former HC's Currently Unemployed
Jon Gruden
Bill Cowher
Lovie Smith

College HC's
David Shaw
Brian Kelly
Bill O'Brien
Art Briles
Kevin Sumlin
Steve Sarkisian
Charlie Strong

NFL Offensive-Co-ord
Tom Clements - Packers
Greg Roman - Niners
Josh McDaniels - Pats
Ken Whisenhunt - Chargers
Darrell Bevell - Seahwaks
Adam Gase - Broncos
Jay Gruden - Bengals

NFL Defensive Co-ord
Vic Fangio - Niners
Ray Horton - Browns
Bob Sutton - Chiefs
Dan Quinn - Seahawks
Mike Zimmer - Bengals
Todd Bowles - Cardinals
Dennis Thurman - Jets

NFL Special Teams
Jerry Rosburg - Ravens
Dave Toub - Chiefs

NFL Positional Coaches
Ken Norton Jnr - Seahwaks
Eric Mangini - Niners

I am sure there are others that I have missed. Personally, I hate the thought of allowing Jerry to just keep blowing things up every 3-4 years and if Garrett wins the division this year, regardless of record, I would give him another year.

Of the names on the list, I would probably favor Gruden or Shaw. Thinking a little outside the box, I would certainly interview Toub and maybe Rosburg and Sarkisian.

Any other names?

Just keep Garrett. It doesn't matter anyways.

This WILL happen... as will the return of Sparano (OC).

Unless his name is Jimmy Johnson, I don't want anyone on this staff that Jerry has had on his staffs before.

I don't want anyone that has been on his staff before, either.

Jimmy's too old now. He's lost a lot of the piss and vinegar that made him great.

I can see it being Zimmer. Jerry is a horrible combination of being overly loyal, overly optimistic and overly reliant on a small cadre of advisers.

Agreed. I'd probably say he's the odds leader, actually, except for "the field."

I don't think he wants to coach anyways. Not really the point.

I just don't want any guy who Jerry has employed as a coach or player.

He is too loyal and too patient with those guys.

Zimmer is pretty much in the same "family portrait" Garrett is in. Maybe not right in it, but at least photobombing it in the background.

I think Zimmer might even be too obvious.

Other than Garrett, I don't know any coach that didn't come out of left field for old Jer.

It would be nice if Jimmy came back ,won a Super Bowl his first year, then quit. It would really burn Jerry's ass.

There also will be other currently employed HC who will be fired at year's end and available, like Andy Reid last year.

Mike Smith is the only guy I can think off that might potentially lose his job that I'd like. I don't think Coughlin has it in him to restart somewhere again.

I think you should focus on OL and OC candidates. I'm betting Callahan is this year's sacrificial lamb.

I think Russ Grimm is available if OL is a consideration.
