I missed Aikman saying that.
IIRC, Aikman said it in the 3rd quarter. He mentioned that Garrett’s emphasis on the character types of players had a positive influence on the team. He wasn’t talking about the quality of Garrett’s coaching.

McCarthy's Questionable Decision of the Week:

Calling that timeout when the Giants had the ball on 3rd down and were clearly confused about how to line up. The play clock was at around 5 seconds. It was very unlikely that they'd be able to line up and get the snap off in time.

For someone unknown reason, McCarthy gifts them a timeout.

These are the little things that concern you come playoff time. He appears to be a great Monday - Saturday coach, but as Shaq would say he's got a little "Master of Panic" in him on Sunday afternoons.

We're severely nitpicking here. My god.

Moore's play designs just keep getting better and better, This one was just so damn good.
This is why we need to find a way to keep him around. Obviously, I’m not suggesting that we fire McCarthy and make Moore the head coach, but his play designs are brilliant, and they bring the best out of Dak. Keeping them paired together should be the #1 priority this offseason.

No he said it at the end of the game when the clock was winding down. They were propping the Cowboys overall. He said Garrett did a great job developing Dak.

Agreed that it should be a priority but I'm still not especially concerned.

If you look around the league there won't be more than a handful of openings unless a few 1st year guys get fired. The only teams really in the conversation are NYG/PHI/MIN/CHI/JAX, I'd be shocked if anybody else was fired out of those 5, and out of those 5 you have to think at least one or two of them will have a decent enough season and keep their coaches (i.e. Vikings, Bears, Eagles). Or someone like Judge might get another shot given that he had a somewhat promising first year and is now down a bunch of injured guys.

So we might have like 3-4 openings at most, and ultimately I think OC's like Leftwich and Daboll in Buffalo will get HC jobs before Moore. Then you have a few other hotshot young guys similar to Moore in the Carolina OC and O'Connell in LA, not to mention a seasoned vet who has a Super Bowl on his resume in Pederson out there who a team like Jacksonville would probably love after the 3 ring circus that is Urban Meyer.

So all in all, I think there's only a 50/50 chance at best that he leaves, and given that Jerry already got him to turn down a HC job at Boise St., which almost certainly is one of his dream jobs, then I think it's more likely than not that he's back.
