Move this to its proper thread if it’s a better fit, but I’d like to get everyone’s thoughts on this.
The way universities are continually raising tuition, becoming exclusively liberal in their ideology, spending less and less on faculty, how much longer do you think they can get away with this?
So here’s my thought. YouTube. The free market of ideas and education all on one platform.
You have brilliant professors like Jordan Peterson who have uploaded lectures onto YouTube for years already, that’s FREE education.
Why wouldn’t this be the answer to insane tuition and student loan debt? The professors surely could make a very good income from views. Peterson has well over 1m subs, his videos often eclipse 500k views in a relatively short time.
There’s the question of testing, but surely there could be an exit SAT type test that could serve the purpose of determining wether or not you make the cut in your desired degree.
Do any of you think that could be the not so distant future of universities?
