I didn't see the Ravens drafting a workout warrior. That's not usually their thing. Shitty player but freak athlete.

We got the best LBer in the draft, a true alpha dog. Who is a monster in run defense, our biggest weakness. At a position where we are filled with under achieving, oft injured prima donnas. And picked up a third round pick while doing it?

FUCK THIS SHIT!!!

McCarthy: #1 priority is turnover differential. Parsons is an impact player. He plays the way we want to play defense

SJ: Logic is to take all our picks, but certainly if there's a guy we want, we'll go get him. Just costs so much in the Top Ten to move up slots.

Jerruh: I was big on #88 last year. I had a friend that was #88 that we lost last year. I'm not that personal with #11. I understand jersey number is a big part of individual brand. We usually let the players work it out between themselves. If someone wants #9, we'd have to consider how it relates with Romo. We are very aware with what happens with relative with personality identifications with a jersey number - it's not frivolous. We genuinely consider, but have to consider the other things. We're pretty sensitive about #12 and #8 and #22 around here. Those are decisions we'll make as a club. This is a club decision.

I like Tryon, think he was being underrated. Not a bad pick at all.

Well that's all she wrote folks. No first round DTs so that's good for us.

i was hoping he would be there for our first 3rd. but the closer we got to the draft, the higher he was climbing.

i have no doubt that teams have these guys pegged way better than we do as fans, as we can only go by what we see during games and with what the media shares. but if you had told me 3 months ago that tryon was a first rounder, i would have laughed. funny how little we as fans actually do know.

Yeah a guy you think is a third round steal who you love because the media rankings have him lower just wasn't really that low on teams boards.

I would've taken Slater but I'm happy with Parsons. I'm worried about who he's going to look towards as a mentor/veteran voice and the impact Jaylon could have on him, but aside from that I think he'll be really good.

Plus Jaylon might be gone in 12 months so that'd be swell.

It's up to the coaches to maximize what he does well, particularly his ability to blitz.

Well fuck you for liking the Parsons pick.

But at least you have been consistent about it.

What could it possibly be? People arguing to trade up to ensure one of the CB's?

Feh.
Would have been error messages loading this board if we traded up for Surtain or Horn. Everyone would have said it was dumb as fuck to trade up for a guy when we would have gotten them at 10.

I preferred Surtain because I think he's safe and high ceiling at the same time, but Parsons has the highest ceiling of any defensive player in the draft.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he turned into a healthy Jaylon, basically a dumb dog chasing cars with no thought behind it. I also wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being a Devin White-type blitzing terror.

The reality is probably somewhere in the middle but the explosiveness he brings at LB is beyond anything we've ever had.
