Just heard the worst we can pick is at 10, and the best is at 8. If we would have won today and the skins lost, we all know we would have been at 19 at best. If we won today, and skins won, we could have fell as far as 16 depending on the rest of the games today (final records, strength of schedule, etc...) But granted, every thing would have to align for that to happen. We more than likely would have ended up around 12 or 13.

We have gone out and splurged on FAs in the past. We had more misses than hits. I like our recent approach to FA. Now I would maybe argue some of our FA scouting has been shit...

Well, the problem is they went from one extreme - throwing huge money at big name FAs - to the other - shopping from the bargain bin.
Now they consistently turn their nose up to second tier FAs that could help, particularly on defense.
Honey Badger a couple years back, for example.

I guess if we got the 8th pick, Dak back healthy, and with some decent progress towards the end of the year......Jerry will once again have all he needs to sell us for another season!!!

Speaking of that, I was in the car for a while and listened to the postgame. Calvin Watkins, I think it was, actually asked him if he thought he'd be back next year. Smith was pretty incredulous at the question and said anyone who watched the tape and knew this defense knew what he could do.

The studio guys (someone and Broaddus) said there had been talk of him not being back, which I hadn't heard. Broaddus, who is mostly a tool, said the guys on bad teams who always say they couldn't possibly be the problem and it must be someone else are the ones who need to go. He's right.
