My sister has it pretty bad (fevers that won't subside; loss of taste buds; body aches). She's trying to ride it out at home instead of taking a hospital bed from someone sicker.

I think some people have forgotten how bad the flu can hit people. I was once down for 2 weeks with the flu. It was one of the worst sicknesses of my life. So, of course another virus such as this one is going to hit some people harder than others. You know, kinda like the flu does.

Buddy of mine had it a couple of weeks ago. He's about 45, I'd say a naturally pretty healthy and active guy but has let himself gain quite a bit of weight. He tested positive a few days after symptoms showed up. Had flu-like symptoms for about five days. Talked to him yesterday and he said he's been symptom-free for a week now. Said it was less severe than the illnesses he usually gets this time of year, and definitely far less severe than what he had last year.

I still wonder if the illness he had last year (and I had too) wasn't Covid, and while the antibodies were gone, the body remembered how to defeat the illness.

BTW, said he had to deal with the podunk city/county contact tracer. That woman actually urged him to go to the hospital even though his symptoms were mild and his doctor advised nothing of the sort. Nonsense like that makes me wonder if that's one reason hospitalizations are so high.

Hell, a common cold can be miserable for a week or so. The strange thing is that the Covid vaccine is supposed to be 95% effective whereas the traditional flu shot is only 70%. Considering how new Covid is, you'd think it'd be just the opposite.

100% agree. They need to let people live their own fucking lives.
True. They also need to have ER capacity and the ability to treat COVID and non-COVID related hospital visits. Rubio out here talking shit while his ass was getting the vaccine a few days ago. So heroic.

I would have more faith in these hospital numbers if all of these numbers weren't so overblown it's almost comical.

The numbers mean squat, they’re so overstated. Or in the case of China , they’re understated

What are more accurate numbers?

What about South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc who are also reporting 'successful' numbers?
They didn’t have a bad orange man to get rid of.

Two of those are also small authoritarian ruled islands that can easily cut travel to/from off with ease

Cuz even if underreported in Asian countries, coronavirus still isn't killing people left and right, is it? Here, there, anywhere. Which makes all this regulation even less sensical.
A big part of the problem is the govt giving extra money to hospitals for deaths that are labeled covid, which is why we have motorcycle accidents listed as covid deaths

When we had control of the House he should of pushed for a bill for him to be able to veto line items again but doubt Paul Ryan's bitch ass would have went for it
