I'm with BiPo on this one...who fucking cares?

Waters might be the difference in 8-8 vs 6-10 but theres no way the Cowboys were going 9-7 or better.

Only thing to wish for now is more L's so that Garrett can get the hell out of Dodge.

Yeah, it doesn't matter. We've had a pretty good offensive line and we intentionally hold ourselves back on the road anyway.

As an aside, our serious injuries have seemed inordinate the past 2 years. Is it something we're doing?

Seriously, who cares?

We all saw what this team was made of on Sunday.

They weren't doing anything with or without Waters.
this right here, hopefully this kills any chance of us backdooring our way into the playoffs just to be one and done and give Jerry the excuse to keep Garrett

You are just a shitty miserable excuse for a Cowboy fan.

Jerry himself mentioned AGAIN today how anything is possible if you just make the playoffs. Even mentioned the Ravens as proof.

What more do you need, fake fan?

Cowboys waiting on Brian Waters to explore all his options before making a roster move

While starting right guard Brian Waters likely is out for the season with a torn triceps, the Cowboys are willing to wait and let Waters explore all his options in what might be his final season.

"We just want to explore every option with him," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday. "He has that kind of impact on our football team, so when you have a guy like that you just want to check every avenue before you make any definitive comments, and then we’ll have to make a decision one way or another here in the next few days."

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on his radio show Tuesday that Waters likely is out for the year. The Cowboys could have placed Waters on injured reserve Tuesday when they made a roster move, but elected to release defensive end Jason Vega instead.

Waters wants to try to rehab for two weeks and see if he can play with it after the bye week. The Cowboys, though, might not have the luxury to carry the roster spot that long.

Dallas has only three healthy cornerbacks and two safeties missed all or part of Sunday's loss to the Lions.

"We’ll see," Garrett said. "We’ll just see what the final medical evaluation is and what our best move is, and we’ll do that here in the next few days."

Doug Free an option as backup guard
October, 30, 2013

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas – As the Dallas Cowboys wait to make a decision on the future of right guard Brian Waters, they have some options that might not require them to add an offensive lineman immediately.

Waters has a triceps injury that will likely end his season, but he is holding out hope he can return at some points and is delaying surgery.

In the meantime, the Cowboys wait, but who knows for how long.

What can they do if they don’t place Waters on injured reserve and call up David Arkin from the practice squad?

Doug Free started the preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals at right guard and could move inside if Ronald Leary or Mackenzy Bernadeau got hurt in a game. Jermey Parnell would take over at right guard.

“That’s an option that we messed around with earlier on in the year, as you guys remember, so we’ll see,” coach Jason Garrett said. “We’ll figure out the reps as the week goes.”

Another possibility would be to move Travis Frederick from center to guard and insert Phil Costa at center if something happened to Bernadeau or Leary.

Garrett has not ruled Waters out for the season, but acknowledged they will have a decision to make.

“We just want to explore every option with him,” Garrett said. “He has that kind of impact on our football team. When you have a guy like that, you want to check every avenue before you make any definitive comments.”

Time might be running out on Brian Waters

November, 1, 2013

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas -- Try as Brian Waters and the Dallas Cowboys might, keeping the veteran right guard on the 53-man roster might be too tall of a task.

Waters is seeking multiple opinions on his triceps injury in hopes of playing again this season, but the Cowboys are in need of a roster spot and might be unable to wait.

"Doing a little more diligence and then we’ll make a decision probably, hopefully before the day is out," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said.

Waters wants to attempt to play even if surgery is the inevitable option, but with injuries at other spots on the roster, like cornerback, the Cowboys are looking at placing him on season-ending injured reserve.

"He’s a pro,” Jones said. "He didn’t come back to get the proverbial check. I think he really came back to compete and make a difference, and he’s made a difference for us. Even if we don’t have him again, I think he’s made a huge difference in our room and made the guys around him better. Obviously glad we signed him. Very unfortunate what’s happened to him. But obviously we’re looking and seeing and making sure he wants to (see), if there’s any way he could play through this. But obviously, not totally optimistic there."

The Cowboys signed Waters on Sept. 4 to a one-year deal with a $1.5 million base salary. He could earn another $1.5 million in incentives. He has started the past five games, but will be replaced by Mackenzy Bernadeau.

"At one point, we were totally counting on Mackenzy," Jones said. "It’s great to have him. That’s one of the things that Waters brought to the table when we ultimately got him, was, it not only solidified the front, but it solidified our depth. We think Mackenzy can go in there and do the job."

Cowboys "open" to having Brian Waters back

Right guard Brian Waters will undergo surgery on his torn triceps soon. Though he played only eight games this season and turns 37 years old in February, coach Jason Garrett said the Cowboys are "open" to having Waters back next season.

"I love the guy," Garrett said Monday. "I think he’s done so much for our football team. I think he played really well in a short-period of time without having an off-season and training camp. It’s not a surprise based on what he’s done throughout his career, but more than that, the kind of guy he is. He is a heck of a guy to have on your football team. He’s a warrior. He demonstrated that throughout his career in the short-period of time he was with us. He had a real positive impact and his demeanor and his temperament was contagious particularly for that offensive line group. We have so many young guys. Tyron Smith is young. Ron Leary is young. Travis Frederick is young. All these guys are young football players, and to have a veteran guy like that to kind of show them how to do it, it was really good. It was good for our team and hopefully that contagious nature continues in his absence.

"We certainly want him to be around as he’s on IR to continue to have that impact, and we’ll see how everything comes out with the surgery, but we’re certainly very open to having him back."

Waters andthe Cowboys had hoped to find a way he could return this season by delaying surgery, but doctors delivered the verdict that landed the 13-year veteran on injured reserve Saturday.

"In the end, it was a medical decision and based on the injury he had, like we talked about at the outset, the triceps injury of the three that he had in that ball game was the most significant one and he needs to have surgery on that," Garrett said. "We tested every possible scenario, every avenue to see if he could play, whether it’s bracing it up or whatever, but the nature of being an offensive lineman and not having use of your triceps, that’s what they do. Every snap, that’s what they do.

"He’s a tough guy. He wanted to play. We had some late-night conversations about finding a way to have him play. At the end of the day, it was a medical decision that said he’s not going to be able to do this."

So if it was so helpful to have a good veteran on the line to help all the young guys, why did it take you idiots so long to figure out you might want to bring someone like that in?

I swear to god we are frigging morons.
