The team is soft, undisciplined, lacking in focus, entitled, whatever you want to call it, and that's mostly on the coaches. I get that the overarching problem is the culture that Jerry enables but this is egregiously bad right now, even above and beyond the bullshit that emanates from Jerry.

It'd be one thing if we were like 3-2 and the wheels fell off after Dak got hurt and we were playing 4 backup OL, but what we're seeing now is just an exaggerated version of the shit show that was on display over the first 4-5 games.

everything stems from Jerry. when you play like shit and your owner says not to panic because the division is still in play, that "losing is okay" mentality filters thru the entire organization.

Go and watch Aldon Smith on that last play. Zero effort.
This was dubious too. The Wash RB was still struggling to get in and Aldon made no effort to shed the tight end. He preferred to dance with him.

He was doing that all game long.

The entire defense, personnel and staff, needs to be purged as much as possible.

Outside of guys who will be on rookie deals in 2021, and Lawrence who we literally can't cut, I'd probably only bring back 2-3 others total.

A mass purge might make things worse before they get better. Look at how we evaluate free agents. Guys like Clinton-Dix instead of people who can play. Even picking high in the draft isn't going to fix the roster from top to bottom.

One of the things that bothers me is the non-response from the coaching staff. I'll give the players the benefit of the doubt and accept that they haven't quit. But they certainly aren't playing hard either. I don't think anyone can look themselves in the mirror and say they left it all on the field.

Which leads me back to the coaching staff. The coaching staff sees the mental errors and lack of effort each week. It jumps out at you live during games and I'm sure it's obvious as hell during film sessions. So my problem is the coaches keep running the same offenders out there each and every week. There's practically zero consequences for poor play.

The only shakeup in the lineup for poor play that I can recall is Worley & Thompson being pulled. But those are bottom of the roster WGAS players who won't be in the NFL in 2021. There's no message of accountability being sent when you bench players of that caliber. Especially when well-known repeat offenders like Poe and Jaylon Smith continue to skate unpunished. I don't care if the backups are worse, I'd love to see some JAG inserted as a starter in place of a guy like Jaylon.....just for the message it would send.

pointless. Jerry will never admit that we're rebuilding. instead of bad coaches and gutless players, he'll attribute our bad fortune to injuries and then bring the entire gang back.

It might not make things great but I can't see how they'd get worse.

We'd be getting rid of Poe, Griffen, Crawford, Jaylon and guys like Woods/Lewis, are we really losing much there?

Of course the stuff I say starts with the assumption that the people picking players can actually find competent defensive players, although McClay and his crack staff haven't been able to find one long-term cornerstone in almost 10 years, so there's that.

Agreed and this is why I blame the coaches just as much as Jerry's dumb shit, even if Jerry is truly the root of everything.

Well, that is a bad assumption. It will get worse with the same idiots picking the same kind of players.

I've said it many times, but I'd trust a group of 10-15 people from this board to make personnel decisions at least as much as the guys who are in charge of the team. And that's assuming I'm not personally involved, because if I were then obviously I'd trust it more than these fucking buffoons.

One positive thing I'll say is that I appreciate how the coaches prioritized DT, they just didn't attack it the right way. Hopefully that mindset sticks whether McCarthy is here or not.

Anyone notice that we haven't heard of a single blow up inside the locker room? That's also a tell-tale sign that these losers don't care.

In years past when the team hit a rough patch and played poorly for multiple weeks there would be a handful of guys in the locker room ripping into their teammates and tossing furniture. Similar to what we got from Michael Bennett last year.

I haven't seen or read any reports of Cowboys players being angry after all these embarrassing losses. It's like it doesn't bother them at all.

Will be fascinating to see if Stephen can continue with all this bullshit talk as this horrid team death marches to 3-13.
