Yeah, before I'd seen anything else about this, I heard about it on the top of the hour radio news and they mentioned the "militia" aspect far more prominently than the antifa one. They didn't say, but just from their couple of sentences one would assume the white nationalist types did the shooting.

And on that note, I've been very surprised how even Fox news radio stations frame stories to be anti right. For instance, "Biden accuses Trump of..." Or "some are criticizing Republicans for..." silly nonsense like the good people on both sides lie. I'd expect that from ABC or NBC but not Fox.

A cafe owned by a military veteran was shot at during a chaotic demonstration in Portland over the weekend after being deemed by rioters as unfriendly to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Heroes American Cafe was targeted for being an "unfriendly business" by so-called Antifa-linked Twitter accounts, owner John Jackson told Fox News.

Two windows in the cafe's downtown location were shot at and another was struck with a blunt object -- possibly a baseball bat -- said Jackson, a Black man who served in the Army and Marine Corps.

The media really has amazing power. For the vast majority of America they shape reality for folks. What they tell us is happening is the extent of most people's knowledge beyond the small area they live. Especially now that you have other sources like facebook and google essentially controlling what people see or don't see as well.

Another alleged plotter, Brandon Caserta, called President Trump a 'tyrant' - adding 'Trump is not your friend, dude.' Caserta notably has an anarchist flag behind him in several videos he's recorded.

I'm a huge proponent of letting free enterprise run its course, and feel the same about big tech. Where it crosses the line is interfering with a federal election. That should not be allowed, IMO.

I'm with you but I think you always have to be worried about communication platforms. If it happened with your phone it would be a real problem. But things like facebook have almost replaced phone calls and texts for some people. They use facebook messanger and interact with their posts.
