Yeah, I know that is going to sound like one of those bullshit things. But one of his relatives oddly enough lives up here in Missouri. When he mentioned knowing him, I said how I wish he was able to play right now and he mentioned the car accident like it was the reason he isn't playing and made it sound serious. I wonder if there is something with that accident that we don't know about.

Yeah' let's go down the Collins offseason checklist:

1. Got paid big money last year
2. Showed up to camp way out of shape
3. Couldn't be bothered to stay in the bubble like the rest of the team
4. Got into a car accident as a result of traveling to and from practice
5. Then developed some 'hip injury'
6. Placed on IR, missing 3 of 16 games
7. No word is coming out that there's no guarantees he's back after those three games

As Collins was placed on injured reserve before the season began, he is eligible to return to the team in Week 4 (next week). The Dallas Morning News has a newsletter that is emailed out to people throughout the week, you can sign up for it right here, and in Friday’s edition it was noted by Michael Gehlken that Collins “does not appear on track” to return at that point.

While Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith has yet to be ruled out for Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, concern is palpable at The Star. There seems to be a general understanding this neck injury is something the team will have to manage carefully for a prolonged period. He didn’t practice Wednesday and Thursday. We’ll likely see his practice reps limited even in weeks when he does play.
Meanwhile, relief is not imminent at right tackle. Any player who begins the season on injured reserve can return to practice and play a game as early as Week 4. Right tackle La’el Collins does not appear on that track. While wide receiver Ventell Bryant (knee, injured reserve) has worked on the side field with an athletic trainer during practices this week, Collins has yet to reach that phase of his rehabilitation.

I wonder if they can only release injuries at the approval of the player. There is HIPPA after all. I wonder if some the lies are what the player puts out and the team has to play along.

Example - I still don't understand how LVE injured his collarbone. None of the plays seemed to show him hanging his arm and they tested his neck on the sideline before taking him to the lockerroom. I think something is amiss...
