I suppose the words "last two games" is impossible for you to grasp.
I'm not sure what the point is. I've already admitted the CBs played well the last two games.

That doesn't change the fact that the DL is more important, which is my only point here (and which you agreed with). And as has been proven by our performance against better QBs... they've gotten shredded.

Given that, it's not gonna get me excited that they managed to shut down Nick Foles.

Yes, a poor game from the CBs would have lost the game today.... a good performance won it.

And?

What's the goal here? To win a championship?

Then guess what? To do that, we need more DLs, even if that comes at the expense of our CBs. In the playoffs, we're gonna run the gamut of Brees, Rodgers, and Mannings. Guess how we beat them?

I do want the DL to get better and value the DL. However, I don't need to minimize and exaggerate to make a point.

I'm not minimizing anything. The CBs played great the last two weeks.

It's also not enough to win against the best without much better DL play. Conversely, we could, in fact, get by with great DL play but a bit worse CB play.

The last two games the DBs have been more impactful than the DL. How many times or ways do I have to say it?

Not to be offensive, but that statement doesn't mean anything to me. Not being dismissive, I am entirely serious.

Our DL has been pretty lousy since week 1, in general. It's not shocking that our DBs would have "more impact" than a position group that is not playing well.

It's a formula that has also gotten us torched pretty repeatedly by good QBs.... so.... congrats, DBs. You beat up Nick Foles.

I wouldn't expect the same result with any amount of consistency against the teams we have to beat to be a true contender. Namely because I've seen this story again and again and again in the last decade or so of Cowboys football. It won't change until we build the defense right.

We can get by with poor DL play and great CB play. Like the last two weeks. You'll notice when our CBs are used properly and not wasted in zones our defense is better.

My teams beat top 10 Louisville and the Eagles this weekend. Can't get a lot better than that.

So, you agree that the DBs have had more impact. Cool.

At some point we need to PA pass when Bosworth comes in.
They had the PA pass called on one series but Free or one of the other OL committed a False Start penalty.

No, we can't, unless guys like Nick Foles, RG3, Sam Bradford and Alex Smith are on the schedule every week.

We've been shredded every time we face an elite passing QB. Eli, Peyton, Rivers. Brees and Rodgers are gonna do the same.

I'd rather have a defense that can beat the best. To do that, you need the DL.

So when we're deciding how to allocate resources, it's foolish to invest in CB if you can't also have the elite DL.

You'll notice when our CBs are used properly and not wasted in zones our defense is betted.
I notice that it's better.

I also notice that it's been a decade of overinvesting in DB that has net us less than stellar defensive play, so I'm no where close to backing down on the pretty definitive proof that is in my corner on this one.

Impossible, there is only one way this can be done.

A good regular season to be a Broncos fan.
Just about every regular season with Peyton Manning is a good one.

2010 is about the only year that I recall him struggling.

Colts need to open things up more. Let Luck sling it around a bit and stop treating him like Alex Smith.

DL > DB.

Deal with it.
I like how you change CB to DB. Very subtle.

It has always been QB, LT, DE, CB in some sort of order, as the four most important positions in football. I don't think that has changed. I do think, in support of your argument, that if you have the same grade on a DE as you do a CB, you take the DE. However, you do continually ignore the importance of CB's.

Not in the way that you think.

If anything, I would value a safety over a CB.

I don't agree that CB is one of the four most important positions, in fact, it's near the bottom.

Not going down this road again with you. Though every team in the NFL would disagree with you on that one.
