why don't they just pause the distribution of licenses until things improve enough to take road tests?

why do you want government intervention in this case?
I want government to stop changing the damn rules. This shit has governments doing the whackiest shit. I don't want government intervention. I want them to do their damn jobs...... as they normally would.

I have learned in my tenure that some Federal Agencies approach to these things as follows. The first problem solving tool they use is the old standby of if it’s a problem just throw money at it. The bigger the problem the higher the money pile needs to be.

I'm not trying to play gotcha or argue, it just seems from past conversations you want little to no government involvement in anything but maybe you were just referring to the free market economy?

I actually have very similar views and want the smallest government we can get by with and then I start wondering what it would be like if we had no government then I think, no, we need police then we need prisons, we need roads, military, etc, etc...and I'm left wondering how the private sector do many of these things that I don't see happening without some kind of government

Thanks man. Bad thing is, no underlying health issues either. He went to the ER on Friday night, Sat night in the hospital, Sunday night dead. WTF.
That's the scariest part to me...who knows what underlying issues we may have?

Very sorry to hear about your friend, that is terrible news. Do they suspect he got the virus out on the road?

My admin girl went to Costco yesterday to get our weekly fill of sodas, Gatorade, etc and said there were lines of people in checkout with 2 and 3 carts full of nothing but chicken and hamburger. I mean, WTF. Thats just simple hoarding- why don't they put out a ban on that shit?
Exactly, the stores should be putting a limit of one on everything.

Government has its role, and it's an important one. Public safety is one aspect of it. But, releasing convicted felons from prison and not requiring drivers tests flies in the face of that public safety.

Jesus Christ.
My daughter's getting her learner's license this summer, but she's been driving for years.

Just when our insurance was starting to go down, too.

Shit. I have to be there twice in May. This is not going to be fun because Atlanta is bad enough with the adults.
Fuck ATL traffic.

Our car insurance tripled when we put my son on it a couple of years ago.

As I understand it, adding a teenage girl doesn't make your insurance go up as much as adding a teenage boy does so hopefully it won't be that bad.

It won't be as bad, but it is still going to hurt.

Same when we put our son on four years ago. God knows what it goes to when my daughter goes on next year.

DFW online poll results:

I would react the same as the poll results but if look at the long term priorities the only way things are going to get back to the norm is moving in that direction. The nervous Nellie approach will actually create more and larger problems in the long run.
