For the record that was 2018 (and he certainly wasn't as good last year), but it does look like he is at least capable.

Not to belabor the point but I think this is interesting.

“I’ve been told it’s more to the point of what you’re talking about, Bobby. This is going to be more of a 3-4 linebacker set and that we could see Jaylon Smith potentially rushing more.” - Jane Slater

I guess we’re supposed to be a multiple formation defense , but I keep hearing a lot of 3-4 talk

I don't give two shits what some kid in their basement is reporting to Cris Collinsworth for PFF.

Smith is not in control when he rushes. He is arms and legs everywhere and he overruns plays a lot when he is asked to blitz.

This is a very very bad plan.

I'd imagine they want to make Smith basically a 4-3 strongside LB, let him stack TE's at the LOS, cover in the short zone area and blitz from different angles.

I'd be truly shocked if the plan was to leave him on an island with an OT like a true 3-4 OLB.

This shit again?

How many times are we going to do this?

Here's an idea..... How about we actually draft or sign a talented safety for once and we wouldn't keep having to move CBs over in hopes of it panning out at a position of need?

Yeah, that is the one thing I can complain about with the new regime.

They seem to think they can undervalue the position and create something.

I still remember when they all had plans for Scandrick to play the "Star" position.

Was that a Jones thing or a Ryan thing or who? It just seems to have been around forever.

Who was out there for us to upgrade safety? We all saw that it wasn't meant to be in the draft, unless we wanted to either trade up or take an inferior player. I for one, am glad the draft played out just like it did. Even without a safety.

Was there a safety out there in free agency that we should have tried to sign? I honestly don't remember if there was or not.

Vonn Bell played under Nolan and signed relatively cheap with the Bengals, would've been a good fit with Clinton-Dix.

Wait, is this your Garrett love lashing out in anger again?

McCarthy is just as capable as your boyfriend of being stupid.

He just hasn't lost game after game after game because of it.

We will see what happens.
I look forward to all the equally stupid McCarthy bashing; I suspect I’ll quickly become known as a “McCarthy lover,” and be accused of unreasonably sticking up for him again and again.

No.... the new regime is undervaluing it, duh.
