I’m watching the hydroxychloroquine debate closely. Trump mentions it 3 or 4 weeks ago, the media and print news start calling him a snake oil salesman. Now there are whispers that it’s actually helping and gaining traction as a possible treatment for covid-19.

But instead of a retraction or an apology, they’ll blame him for a shortage of the drug because he made it public too early.

1) Hydroxychloroquine could be promising
2) Trump, a layman, shouldn't be dispensing medical advice

both can be simultaneously true

It wasn't a loaded question, I'm sincerely curious to know so I asked the doc to get his take specifically on whether there really was nothing to lose, etc

simple as that, no need to project other motives

Totally healthy 62 year old an with cough and fever. Now on a vent. I have another one of a 34 year with DM treated with pills. The board consensus is irrelevant. Stay the fuck at home.
Is that a picture of lungs?

Whats DM stand for?

I don't know how you can make anything out of that, what is this supposed to tell us?

He probably shouldn't be, but it has to be prescribed, so it's not like people can go rush out and buy it over the counter and O.D. on their own. And I think we know doctors are going to make up their own minds. They won't be swayed by what Trump says.

I find it a little odd that Fauci keeps saying it's only anecdotal, like it's a bigfoot sighting or something. I guess studies -- yes, preliminary ones, but still ones done by M.D.s and scientists -- done overseas don't count at all. Maybe that's the convention, to act like like if it hasn't been done by the CDC/FDA whoever here, it doesn't matter.

Fauci has to be careful about what he puts his stamp of approval on. I think that’s why you get some of the iffy stuff from the administration and the POTUS, and more of the concrete facts from Fauci.

Oh I get that, and have no problem at all with Fauci. I just think it's weird to keep calling it anecdotal like it's a Facebook rumor. But I'm sure anecdotal has a different meaning in his eyes.

I perceive it as him just speaking with an abundance of caution like I hope we'd all probably do if we were in his shoes

Boris Johnson was moved to ICU. What I read is his symptoms have worsened.

I'm sure the msm will be going after Cuomo any minute now for promoting hydroxychloroquine like they did Trump

That’s beautiful and all. Great of them to send her off like that.

But I have to ask, isn’t there like 75,000 other people dying in that hospital every minute, and there’s like 100 nurses and doctors just chilling in the hallway like everything is good because she’s going home?

Which hospital is that? That’s the one that everyone needs to go to. They look like they need something to do.
