That's scary to me for our economy. We have most of our stuff where I'm at pushed out to May 1st. I was really hoping things could get back to normal after that. I'm starting to really worry what the economy may look like as this thing pushes on.

Plus everyone is going stir crazy.

I'm sorry, you're just not being intellectually honest so there's no point.
Whoops. You caught me in something that I can't truthfully answer, so I'll just accuse you of being intellectually honest, and back away....

I think it’s going to be worse than 2008 or whatever year the recession hit.

There’s no way to get back this lost time. I don’t think there’s a realistic chance that this doesn’t go on into June-July, and even then, it’s not like everyone is going to hit the ground running.

My wife and I are already discussing finishing out 2020 as take out only. How many other businesses and employees are going to feel safe enough to just go back to normal practices? Every time someone coughs or sneezes, or misses a day of work, people are going to be freaking out.

I feel like this is going to change all of us going forward, and not for the better. At least until there’s a sure fire vaccine or “cure”. I mean, even if it goes away over the coming months, experts are already predicting it will come right back.

You guys are cute. Sorry I said bad things about the Precious. He's doing a terrific job. Stellar.
It isn’t the President who will be the one to overcome the pandemic. He is figurehead and cheerleader. It’s the people of the nation who will ultimately be the force or non force that determines the outcome of all this. He should not be viewed as the cause or the solution rather whether he rallied the country. Taking a political position about this circumstance to try to make inroads toward the next election is just inappropriate.

I agree with you. This isn't something that a President could have stopped. All we can do is try and ride it out as best as possible. I'll hold judgment on that until the end.

Just a matter of time before they get a bailout.

"comorbidity"

is that the new hashtag? Second time I've seen this word in my life with both times being today referring to people most vulnerable to coronavirus.

I remember the word "billowing" after 9/11.

She's upset that more important matters have taken the spotlight off her.

Every country in the world -- especially every western country -- is experiencing a disaster with this. Is every leader a Trumpian idiot? I don't see how anyone can honestly claim things would be much different if Obama or Hillary or anyone else on the left were president right now. Especially since we have their tweets to go back and look at. Biden, Bernie, DeBlasio, Pelosi, all of them have tweets and comments that look terrible in retrospect.

This is simply a bigger problem than anyone was equipped to handle. This is not a perfect world and sometimes bad things happen that aren't the fault of the government.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying here but I think this is the exact thing government should excel at as its something that we individually cant take on by ourselves and there has been plenty of warning about an impending pandemic and that we weren't prepared for it. Bill Gates warned of this in 2015 and even met with Trump to repeat the warning.

I'm indicting both parties because they have not demonstrated the collective will to take on certain issues like this without letting insane politics and other shiny objects distract them from planning in advance for something like this.

As usual, disaster seems to get everyones attention and only then will something finally be done but on the heels of panic and desperation where emotions are high and avoidable mistakes will be made.

But here we are so lets hope we come out of this with a new sense of urgency to have a nationwide plan for how to handle the next pandemic and enough cooler heads can prevail to make it happen
