This is just sad bro :lol
I get you're angry at the world's dependency on Chinese manufacturing. Why you think that is my fault baffles me. still haven't heard how you plan to cover the masks deficit. And I'm pretty certain you'd rather not have your wife and all the brave men and women fighting this pandemic without PPE.

Today, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp ordered a stay at home order for his state citing new information from the CDC that asymptomatic patients can spread the disease. This is a "game-changer" he said. Meanwhile, that has been reported for ~1 month.

How can these people be so ill-informed and ignorant? Is nobody from the White House reaching out to them? I mean, they shouldn't have to be they sure as fuck should be. I mean this guy Kemp had repeatedly made himself look like a total moron in ads and false claims but I figured it was just shtick. No. this guy really is a shithead.

Who is the largest distributor of hospital grade masks in America?

Does 3M make them? I know they make construction grade masks, but I assume those aren’t adequate.

There’s no way in hell there should be a shortage at this stage in the game. There should be several factories across the United States who’s only objective is to pump out masks.

I think it’s more likely there are stockpiles of them sitting around waiting to be cleared by whatever government bureaucracy that thinks they know better than the company who would ultimately be responsible for putting out an inferior product if unchecked.
I don't know about all that. It takes awhile to retool a factory, set up quality control. Then training, then you have the whole supply chain issues both on the input side (paper) and output (shipping). I think if you told Ford today to start making masks it would be a minimum of a month until they started making them in any volume. Certainly the case with ventilators which are far more complex.

Fellow US car maker General Motors has said it expects to produce ventilators at a rate of 10,000 per month following an order from President Donald Trump to make products under the Korean War-era Defense Production Act.
Ford also plans to make as many as 50,000 ventilators for Covid-19 patients in the next 100 days at its Rawsonville Components Plant in Michigan.

I get that you can’t do it over night, but we’re not talking about machines here, we’re talking about pieces of fabric with elastic bands. Any clothing factory already has pretty much everything they need if they make sweatpants.

There’s no reason you guys shouldn’t have more masks than you need at this point.

Yeah I agree but things needed to have happened a month before they did. Obviously you can't go back but that month of denial has fucked us 8 ways to Sunday.

I'd choose to be your sidekick, @jsmith6919 , but I think @Iamtdg needs more assistance hitting his target, if you know what I mean.
I had propped your post above, but when I read this, I promptly unpropped it.

I get the point, but no way I'm going to stop buying Cowboys gear in the hope that everyone else will too to make this scenario feasible.

What's that you say? It's gotta start somewhere?

Difficult, but not impossible. Hell, a pillow factory has started pumping out masks.

Made another shopping excursion this morning just to pick up a few things but more to see if the panic buying is beginning to abate. The shelves were much better with product with the meat area being the most demanded. Virtually everyone had a case of TP but there was some in stock. I picked up some paper towels just because they were available . The speed of the shoppers was still at a semi frantic pace I guess because they maybe thought this was their best shot to get what they perceived would continue to be in demand. It will be a while before I make another grocery shopping run but I expect things to continue to improve.

I estimate 50% had a mask and 65% gloves. I would like to have seem more.

Dec 30th 2019 China “mentions” they have a virus that shows symptoms of pneumonia;
Jan 7th – China gives the virus a name, (SARS- CoV-2)
Jan 31st – Trump declares “Public Health Emergency” and takes action & immediately demands mandatory quarantine; DEMS fight back saying he is over-reacting;
Feb 1st - Biden slams Trump and states, “This is no time for Fear Mongering”
Feb 2nd – Trump Orders “Travel ban” on Non-US Citizens who visited China are barred from entering the US; again DEMS say he is over-reacting and start fighting back, throwing out accusations or racism.
Feb 27th – Task force for virus is formed; President Trump met with CDC and Medical Officials.
Feb 29th – New Travel Restrictions expanded to include Iran, Italy, South Korea. FDA updated policy to expand virus testing; Dems begin planning a vote to go against Trumps travel bans. Again, with racism being the focal point. ALSO, on this day President Trump asked the DEMS to stop politicizing this Virus & DEMS claim he called the virus a "hoax" which he DID NOT (Research for yourself)
March 2nd – Trump & Pence meet with Drug Companies to help contain CV, they discuss treatment & vaccinations
March 3rd – Trump & Pence order CDC to lift any and all restrictions on CV testing, allowing anyone to be tested for CV
March 6th – Trump signs 8.3 billion dollar Bill to combat CV
March 9th – DEMS in the House Vote to dismantle Trumps Travel bans while DEM Gov Newsom praises Trump for acting responsibly!
March 10th – President Trump met with the Insurance industry to get them to waive any and all Co-Pays for Americans related to CV diagnosis and treatment;
March 11th – President Trump meets with Banking Executives to assist with the economic impact on America due to CV. Discussed economic relief for businesses such as Tax Cuts for employers, possibly extending the filing for taxes, etc. Trump expands Travel ban to include Europe (excluding UK) & Japan.
March 11th - Jerry Nadler: Restricting Foreign Nationals for Coronavirus Will Not Help Public Health. YES HE SAID THAT, Look it up for yourself! World Health Organization declares coronavirus a pandemic as spread continues.
But on February 5th Democrats was trying to impeach Trump.... and the media could care less about the virus..but only after they couldn’t impeach, then Democrats and media turned to the virus

The democrats have done only one single thing in the last 3 years. That is obstruct and attempt to overturn the last Presidential election. They are currently a useless lot.

The demand for masks multiplied by a hundred, a thousand times in a few weeks. And this is worldwide, not in one area where they can be moved from another area. No industry is equipped for that kind of production increase in such a short period of time.

And Shiek, the construction masks actually are good, at least the N95 ones. I bought one a month ago at Lowes (not a 3m) that actually advertises on the package that it protects from flu viruses. Lots of people are making cloth masks, which are better than nothing, but they aren't N95 (keeps out 95% of particles below a certain size).

Good to hear LT say he saw so many people wearing them at a store. Surprising and good.

Incredible. This guy is a moron and has no business being a leader. This should be common knowledge for anyone who has to make decisions regarding how to handle the virus. Instead, he sounds like your average dumbass.

As a side note, I do appreciate the deaf interpreter. Gets his whole body into it with hip thrusts.
