Because it's all about....

"Oh noes! What if we're forced to stay at home for an extended amount of time? Let's make sure to go out and stock up on all this stuff we're gonna need!"

So go out and get your water, toilet paper, and handsoap because those things are gonna be impossible to come by in about 7 to 10 days.

TP you have to buy, but do they think tap water will become infected? The bottled water aisle at my local supermarket yesterday was completely wiped out.
Milk, bread etc. Typical panic cattle move by our stupid country.

Sounds like the NBA is leaning towards following the NCAA's example and mandating that games be played with no fans in the stadium. The other option on the table is to postpone all games until a later date. I don't think option 2 is viable because its too much of a muscle mover.

Each team has roughly 20 games remaining. That's 20 games for each team where you have to make all new travel arrangements, make sure venues are available because a lot of these stadiums hosts concerts and other events during the season; then what happens with the draft, TV partnerships, etc. Just way too much work to postpone that many games in such a short period of time.

So I think the likely scenario is they'll be playing games in empty stadiums.

I think the Trump address at 9PM will be interesting.

I expect a bunch of fumbling about.

They just cancelled the Thunder-Jazz game moments before tip off. Apparently Rudy Gobert has been sick, but he wasnt playing. They must have been afraid one of his teammates had it and they'd give it to the rest of the world.

This is crazy. Wouldn't be surprised if the NBA simply shuts down. Probably mostly because they're afraid of being some ambulance chasing lawyer. Or worse, twitter would kill them for it.
