Read the part about witten. Jerry needs to read it in fact
You don’t just anoint someone as a head coach ala Jason GarrettFor those of you that don't like to click, here is what he said about Witten:
“So here’s the thing. So Witt needs to understand... If he’s going to get into coaching, he needs to start as a grunt. You’ve got to kind of start... I think he thinks that he knows everything that goes on in the coaching world. He’s got to start literally as almost a quality control guy, work your way up. Cause then he’s going to do himself a disservice if he doesn’t. So he needs to really kind of learn from the very bottom rung and walk up that latter and I think he eventually he can be a head coach, yea.”
His point is spot on too, Witten would be a better coach in the end for working his way up. Then he will truly understand what everyone's job on the staff is.For those of you that don't like to click, here is what he said about Witten:

Honestly, I would prefer a direct break from Witten. His point is spot on too, Witten would be a better coach in the end for working his way up. Then he will truly understand what everyone's job on the staff is.
Yes, it's time to go.Honestly, I would prefer a direct break from Witten.
Thanks for the memories, but it sounds like he feels entitled. Just because Garrett hopped and skipped his way does not mean he should follow the same broken model.
No thanks.I would like to see him as Dallas HC one day.
You no context revealing bastid. No thanks.
Legendary Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson had some harsh words about Jason Garrett’s performance as a head coach last season.
The two-time Super Bowl winner said he was surprised that the Cowboys didn’t achieve more under Garrett last season, according to The Dallas Morning News.
“I don’t know why it didn’t go better,” Johnson told the newspaper. “I watched them play a lot of times and they looked as good as anyone in the league. And they are very talented. But then I’d see some adversity happen and they just went blasé.”
Johnson — who recently found out he is part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2020 class — also said the Cowboys lacked an “inner drive” to battle against adversity and make plays.
Geezuz, so a reporter can sway the GM's choice in coaches?
feels like jeri is completely oblivious to this concept until someone talks him into acting in line with this philosophy“So here’s the thing. So Witt needs to understand... plus wtf does Witten know about winning? go work for a winner and come back and see us in a decadeHis point is spot on too, Witten would be a better coach in the end for working his way up. Then he will truly understand what everyone's job on the staff is.
Witten is lost, I think. All he's ever known is football. He sucks at TV. His career is over. OK, now what? Coach I guess.Yes, it's time to go.
I do wish he would go learn the coaching ropes from the ground up.
There's no reason to believe that he's not smart enough to make it, but if he's just handed the keys the way Garrett was, it would surely be a fail.
Be humble and work for several organizations at several different positions.
5 -10 years down the road, if he's put his time in and worked with different HCs and proved his worth as a legitimate OC, I would like to see him as Dallas HC one day.
And smart as Romo is, he’s just too much of a nice guy/goofball to coach NFL athletes.Romo? Sure.
That's not at all true.Witten also lacks the hardness to call someone out as Barbie Carpenter.
From the article:
This is exactly what I was thinking as well. I can't help but think that this is just another case of someone being a product of the environment in which they were raised. For 16 years Witten has watched how the Joneses run their business. Now it appears that he believes it's his turn to receive the free handout.Honestly, I would prefer a direct break from Witten.
