Ricky Gervais is/was hosting the Golden Globes tonight I think, I saw a short clip of something he said, not sure how serious he was, or if it was cut before he gave an “I’m kidding” joke about it, but it was short and blistering.

In a nutshell he told the nominees that if they won, don’t use the opportunity to use the stage as a political platform, that none of them are in a position to lecture the public and they don’t live in the real world.

I hope he was serious and I hope they heard it coming from someone who

You notice there’s like 6 people clapping at what Gervais said. It stung, and it’s 100% true. 95% of those MFers don’t have a clue what it’s like to get up and go to work everyday.

They sit in their ivory towers and point their fucking fingers at people who don’t think like them, like they have all the answers. These people spend all their time making movies, they live and work in a fantasy land. They go to work for 4 or 5 months a year, make a few million dollars, then they go vacation abroad where the only interaction they have with real folks are when the help waits on them hand and foot.
