So much for all the nocturnal emissions over Lincoln Riley, et al.

Jerry is scraping the NFL coaching dumpster for coaches he knows are so desperate they'll agree to be his butt-boys. Marvin Lewis? You gotta be fucking kidding.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.

Don't let his last couple of years at GB taint your opinion. He did some amazing stuff there.
I would rather have McCarthy than Rivera. McCarthy vs everyone else would depend on his choices for OC and DC.

"Fantastic"?

Dude, get a hold of yourself.

I would have to be talked into this fatso by how his staff is composed.

I don't see a fit. We just paid Elliott which means we better run the ball to get our money's worth.

Show me where that fits McCarthy. He is about as run-adverse as anyone.
McCarthy isn’t Garrett but he also doesn’t necessarily strike me as the kind of guy I really picture winning a second Super Bowl with a second team.

I wouldn’t say underwhelming, but I wouldn’t feel like it’s a home run either. No Aaron Rodgers here and having that type of QB is just as responsible for all those winning seasons in a row as anything else.

This was my fear and why I was not willing to run Garrett off after a divisional round playoff appearance.

I feel like Rodgers was doing a lot of just winging it with the Packers and McCarthy. It's why I don't want McCarthy. Dak isn't going to just overrule his coach and do what Rodgers did either so who knows, maybe they would pair really well.

The truth is McCarthy isn't an out of left field interview. He is getting head coach interviews with other teams. Ultimately this is just the start though. I would be very surprised if more guys aren't interviewed. I don't think this is a situation where Jerry already has his hand picked candidate in McCarthy.

I would have agreed, there are a certain number of SB winning head coaches who only take that next job to dine out on past accomplishments and go through the motions. I'd have suspected him of being one of those, but the article about him embracing a data-based approach and working to improve his approach on his own time makes me think he's hungry* enough to bring a substantial improvement to the team.

*insert fat joke here.

LOL,, I wonder how these "interviews" go?

I can just imagine Jerry & spawn doing most of the talking while showing off all their facilities, the helicopter, the boat & plane, talking about "his" 3 super bowls, his custom made "GM mirror" he looks into when things get "really tough":

explains the time he got his credit card cut up, shows off his GM jacket with the mustard stain you cant really see but "Oh man, WhatAburger!", shows them the "Coaches Corner" aka his potential orifice office where all his head coaches reside until jeri decides what they can say or do next.

and when they finally get around to asking questions, it starts with:

Anyway, how do you feel about castration?

While Jerruh was mid-sentence, Riley says ‘no’ and hangs up, per DFDC
