Yes, Garrett has wasted the careers of several HOF players, some of whom are still on this team and still more or less in their prime.

Witten came back as an opportunist, believing this roster had a chance to get to the Big Game and he wanted in. He knew that his surrogate family, the Jones's, and his BFF, Garrett, would shove others aside to make room for him. Sure enough he got the lion's share of the snaps while Schultz, who's a better blocker, and Jarwin, who's a better receiver, both took the pipe.

Fuck Garrett, fuck Jones. Nothing could be more pleasurable than watching those two wallow in their own feces.

Its not Wittens fault he was used the way he was but yeah he is done. Should have had spot duty but I remember the first couple of games where he was actually productive.

What a waste of so many careers.

Romo, Witten, Dez, Ware (lucky that the Cowboys went against his wishes and cut him or he too would have nothing to show for his career).

And while these guys (Dak, Zeke, the O-line, etc.) are young enough to still do something, you just can't be so cavalier with the prime years of NFL athletes because it can all end in an instant. And yet, Jerry Jones was willing to throw away all their best years simply to appease his own ego and seek the sort of credit and recognition that never was going to come his way even had the Cowboys won a Super Bowl doing things their unorthodox way.

I don't get how there aren't more current and former players upset with Jerry Jones the way Troy Aikman is.

What a shame.

Yep. People are shitting on Witten just because he's an easy target. There is not a single one of us that wouldn't have done the same thing he did.

The coaches are the one to blame here. Their #1 job is to identify the best players and put them on the field. To give the team the best chance to compete. Witten was an all time great. They're still blinded by that, and don't want to admit he's not the player he once was.

Witten dropped and easy pass on 2nd and 14 yesterday that would have made it a manageable 3rd down. He’s slow, he’s not as dependable anymore, and he is not even close to the best TE on the roster.
But yet the fucker is always on the field.

Sentimentality will be the death of us. For far too long, way too many players and coaches have been comfortably ensconced with no threats of losing their jobs. Hopefully that changes next week.

He should have never been brought back. He was detrimental to the offense all year long. This organization is so god damn buddy buddy that it's not about having the best players or getting the most out of them. It's about friendship.

Some of us have been making this exact same post with the same list of names for a couple years. Glad to see members of the media are finally waking up and realizing that All-Pro/Pro-Bowl talent is being wasted on poor coaching in Dallas.

I agree, but I also agree he needs to go. Hate to say it because he is easily one of my favorite all time Cowboys, but he is done.

Garrett isn't going anywhere until the season is over, unfortunately.
