Isn't that how Austin got his spot originally? What goes around comes around.
I think Austin has become way too comfortable in his starting spot. He basically pulls himself out of games at the slightest little ouchy. You will see Dez basically out their limping around because he refuses to come out of games while Austin pulls himself out around crunch time during basically every game. For what Austin is paid he should be out their playing like a warrior but clearly he doesn't. So leave Williams in as the starter and just use Austin as your slot guy.

Miles Austin participates in full practice

October, 10, 2013

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin took part in his second straight full practice after missing two games with a hamstring injury.

Austin will need to clear another hurdle at Friday’s practice, but it appears as if he will be available Sunday against the Washington Redskins. Austin chose not to speak, but his teammates have been encouraged.

“Another big, explosive receiver,” Dez Bryant said. “It’s always great to have Miles back in the lineup.”

Defensive end Jason Hatcher was limited in practice for the second straight day because of a stinger, but he is expected to play Sunday.

Linebacker Justin Durant (groin), defensive end Edgar Jones (groin) and running back Lance Dunbar (hamstring) did not practice for the second straight day. Safety Barry Church said the swelling in his nose has gone down and he did not need a procedure to re-set the break. He was a full participant in practice. Wide receiver Dwayne Harris (hip) was limited for the second straight day.

I think Terrance Williams had a lot to do with Austin's quick return to practice. Doesn't mean Miles won't still be slow as shit and playing like ass.

I thought Randle looked pretty awful as a between the tackle runner.

I wonder if that source is Jerry Jones.

If it's a 2-4 week injury then he'll be out for 5.

He's not a quick healer.

With the way the Cowboys are consistently misdiagnosing injury timelines, I think we're going to have to do without Ware and Murray until December.

I say both will be down for at least 6 weeks.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.

Bigger concern is the Ware injury prognosis. RG3 had all day to throw back there at times with Hatcher out.

Love the hustle from the backups, but its not gonna get it done long term.

May not even get it done with Ware back.

Cowboys Injury update: Not long for Ware and Murray but both are likely to miss the Eagles game

The Cowboys got good news of sorts on Monday when it revealed that running back DeMarco Murray and defensive end DeMarcus Ware didn't sustain any long-term injuries after being sidelined in Sunday's 31-16 victory against the Redskins.

Per a source, Murray and Ware are unlikely to play against the Eagles on Sunday. But the Cowboys are hopeful that Murray can return from the sprained knee for the Lions game the following week.

The prognosis is pretty much the same for Ware and his strained quadriceps muscle, though the Cowboys plan to wait until the end of the week before ruling him out of the Eagles game. They want to see if can do something in practice later in the week, though they are not optimistic.

Still the injuries are not considered major, which is good news for the Cowboys.

Are our strength and conditioning coaches for shit or what? Seemed like we had a lot fewer than this when we had Jurassic Park here...

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware has not missed a game since entering the NFL in 2005, but that streak could be in jeopardy Sunday at thePhiladelphia Eagles.

According to a source, Ware and running back DeMarco Murray will most likely not be able to play against the Eagles because of injuries suffered in the 31-16 win against theWashington Redskins, however, Ware would stand to have the best chance of the two.

Ware suffered a quadriceps strain and Murray sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left in the second quarter Sunday. Neither player returned to the game. Both players had MRIs on Monday.

After the game Ware said he was fine and was walking without a limp. Ware has played in 134 straight games, making 133 starts. The only start he missed came on Dec. 19, 2009 against the New Orleans Saints when he still had two sacks in a reserve role. Through six games this season Ware has had to deal with a recurring stinger, back strain, dehydration, getting poked in the eye and now the quadriceps strain.

Murray finished Sunday's game with seven carries for 29 yards and a touchdown. Last yearFelix Jones played through a similar injury to both knees. Murray has yet to make it through a full season without getting hurt. As a rookie he broke his ankle and last year he missed six games with a sprained foot.

If Murray cannot play against the eagles, then the Cowboys would turn to rookie Joseph Randle, who had 11 carries for 17 yards and a touchdown after Murray got hurt. Lance Dunbar did not play against Washington because of a hamstring strain. Phillip Tanner had one carry for 2 yards against the Redskins.

Gibson showed some flashes in the preaseason...I scanned the FAs...I've always like Mark Anderson too and he has experience with Marinelli.

Makes me wonder if they will patch it up with Ratliff now.
