From what I've seen they left it broad and just state semi-auto firearms.

Another legal question, if an agency did sue if this was passed and one of Obamas activist judges on the minor courts ruled against us would it temporarily go into effect until it hit scotus?

Short answer yes it would go into effect until overturned explicitly. Longer answer, there are probably tons of legal maneuvers over my head that would prevent it from taking effect with an active challenge pending. Longest answer, you can expect mass citizen open disobedience of the law given that there is such a recent Supreme Court decision declaring it blatantly unconstitutional; the disobedience being openly flaunted on the logic that the statute is clearly on its face invalid, and anyone prosecuted under it would probably cite the decision.

Given Trump’s vast remaking of the federal courts with conservative after conservative, lots of these defendants if not most of them are going to encounter judges who overrule the ban.

The biggest problem in our country today frankly is probably that the vast majority of the 200 congresspeople who signed up for that bill have never read nor do they even care to be informed about cases that govern the laws they are trying to pass, such as Heller, or the interstate commerce clause, etc.

Kinda like this board. People want to give opinions on stuff but then hide behind, “oh well I am no expert (and I’ll continue to be ignorant because educating myself will destroy my argument).”
