Most of those people were independently wealthy, and got moreso afterwards by giving speeches and becoming lobbyists.

I doubt anyone wants Trump giving speeches after his Presidency on their behalf.

And even if so, I don't think the kind of money that Obama, for example, has made, equals the amount that Trump already had.

I don't think anyone is debating that, just the idea that he's sacrificing anything. He didn't even build the blind trust most (I think all) presidents did before him.

I do bankruptcy, and my boss just recently testified before Congress on an issue related to that.

It was the same. A bunch of politicians grandstanded, made their statements about how "capitalism takes advantage of the unprivileged in this counry" (or otherwise insert alleged disfavored demographic), and no one asked my boss, who is basically a genius, a single pertinent or interesting question.

None of those Congresspeople even have the slightest clue about what the US Code says about bankruptcy or it's more complicated nuances. They understand only the very, very basics. Because these Congresspeople aren't educated; they are the leftovers of society who look good in suits, but cannot offer anything to actual industry. They have risen to the level of their own incompetence and stopped; which is why they aren't CEOs or business leaders or owners of their own companies themselves. It was a pathetic showing all around.

I have no doubt the Mueller hearing, which I did not listen to, was the same.

Mueller didn’t know shit about the report. I half wonder if this guy has a debilitating brain disease and was propped up as the face of the investigation. The guy looked like a fucking puppet with nobody at the strings.

The part in Jordan’s questioning when he asks “Who told Popodopolis(sp?)?” Mueller tries to tell him he can’t get into that, then Jordan has to hilariously tell Meuller that he can in fact, because it’s in his own report, page 192.

Meuller didn’t know jack shit about half of what was asked yesterday. What a shit show.
