Maybe you needed a better defensive tackle to stop the run...Henderson gave me PTSD for our two games against Memphis. Hell of a back.
Oh, I certainly don't think the guy is a bum. He has talent, and I hope like hell that he decides to put it on display in the NFL. But that's what concerns me, is his attitude and coachability.Hill is very talented, let's not pretend like he isn't. His explosiveness/burst and movement is very impressive for his size. The problem is the character stuff plus the fact that it's very likely that this player is a narrow fit to Marinelli's preferences.
If you guaranteed me Marinelli would be here for the next 5 years then I might get on board with it but what happens when he leaves in a year or two?
Is this guy going to quit on the next coach?
In the 3rd I definitely get it but over guys like Adderley/Thornhill and so forth?
Please.
I mean the position makes a lot more sense at least.Trysten Hill is a better pick than Martellus Bennett, at least.
Maybe we needed to start our best DL in those games.Maybe you needed a better defensive tackle to stop the run...
I'd rather have had Saunders in the third3 sacks and 10.5 TFL isn’t bad for a rotational backup DL.
Gardner Johnson and Hooker would be upgrades. So, at #90, would you draft any of the safeties left?
What kind of an asshole do you have to be to be that much more talented then the other guys and still only get one start?Maybe we needed to start our best DL in those games.
Honestly, this isn’t the UCF homer in me talking...talent wise, he’s not a reach.Oh, I certainly don't think the guy is a bum. He has talent, and I hope like hell that he decides to put it on display in the NFL. But that's what concerns me, is his attitude and coachability.
I also think he was a a reach where we got him. There were better values at bigger needs for us still on the board. Safety has killed us for years. And there were a handful of players just staring us in the face, waiting to be picked.
But you know what I think the biggest thing that bugs the ever living shit out of me over this is?
For some reason, year after year after year after fucking year we ignored DT. And the ONE FUCKING TIME when the stars aligned and need met opportunity perfectly, THAT'S when we decide to finally address DT with a premium pick? And do it with a reach on a guy with an attitude problem?
This team never makes it easy, that's for sure.
Well shit, I don’t know if I’d go that far but it just proves the type of talent people see.Good news for
@dallascowboys
fans. I spoke to multiple teams that had second-round DT Trysten Hill graded higher than Clemson DT Christian Wilkins. This kid is a really good football player. Check my timeline.

Wonder if they offer the same speculation when we go RB?DC.com wondering if this Rams RB selection in the 2nd indicates that Gurley ain't right.
From what I remember, he pouted when Frost left and wanted to transfer to Nebraska. Whole team was informed they wouldn’t be granted their release to follow Frost, so he came back but basically coasted all year in practice. He always played hard in games, but didn’t put in any effort more than that. He’s also a party guy and stayed out past curfew many times to drink, but Frost swept those under the rug. What kind of an asshole do you have to be to be that much more talented then the other guys and still only get one start?
He probably played about half as many snaps as he had in previous years. He was effectively suspended for one game and barely played in the LSU game, and who knows how much his snaps were limited in other games. He dominated in the AAC championship vs. Memphis though and I think that was the game he was most heavily used. Why did he only produce 3 sacks?
So why such poor sack production? Did he not play much? Did he have no pass rush moves? Could he just not finish? Even a two gapper gets more than that usually. From what I remember, he pouted when Frost left and wanted to transfer to Nebraska.
