On the front page of the Houston Chronicle site, there's a story on why you should hate the Rangers if you're an Astros fan.

I particularly like this gem:

They’re from Dallas … or Arlington … or wherever
If you’re a Houston sports fan, then hating anything and everything Dallas should be second nature, just like hating the 1986 Mets. The Rangers? The Cowboys? The Mavericks? Ugh, yuck and gross to all three. And, while we’re at it, the Dallas Stars and FC Dallas can go ahead and lose every game, too. And, if Tatu and the Dallas Sidekicks get uppity and try a comeback, they’ll get booed, too.
:lol

Oh, Houston......the inferiority complex is just so hard for them.

I predict the Astros take 2 out of three, the law of averages has to turn around at some point.

Right?:shrug

Hope not this time. We are coming off of losing 3 to the As so losing another series will sting quite a bit. It does have to turn around eventually, though.

New retractable roof stadium in the plans for the Rangers. Should have done it to begin with but better late than never.
Wasn't that ballpark built in the '90s? Seems a little greedy.

Its 20 years old and the lease is coming up. Arlington moved quick because Dallas was starting to make noise. The roof was inevitable and I believe they did look at being able to retrofit the current stadium but wasnt cost efficient.

(assuming it is Dyson that gets the role)
Lol. Banister loves him some Tolleson. He made sure to note to the reporters that the move has the interim tag on it.

Looks like Dyson may get his first shot at a save as a closer tonight, though.

What was the issue with Diekman in Philly or was there an issue with him? Thought I read when he came over that he fell out of favor there so I really wasn't expecting much. He has been great and I think if he wasn't the only trusted lefty in the pen would get serious consideration for the closer role.

Speaking of Colby, he is quietly having a pretty good season so far. 3-0 with a 2.75 ERA.

I don't think there were any real problems that I remember. Some inconsistency I guess, but he was young. The biggest thing probably was Ken Giles was seen as our closer of the future so diekman I think was viewed as more of a middle reliever, though with some talent.

If I'm remembering correctly I think he had a good 2014 but was dropping off in 2015 before he got dealt.

Yep, I recalled correctly. Diekman had a 5 era when traded. There's your reason. :lol

Yeah, I heard it would cost nearly as much to add a roof as it would to build a new stadium. Apparently the players' facilities aren't all that great either.

Harvey is disappointing and deGrom is not right yet...which sucks, but the way Syndergaard and Matz are pitching it is easier to be patient with them. We have some guys who can step in as needed in Verrett and Montero...and we have Colon pitching decently with Wheeler due back in a couple months. Not ideal, but I can deal with it.

Rangers have a 4-1 record and a 2.88 era out of the #5 starter. Thats between AJ Griffen and Ceasar Ramos. You cant beat that out of that spot and Ol Suck Ass with a 2.75 era himself.

Yu is back on Saturday. :towel
