Rangers suck. Try and salvage one game over the O's, will ya please?
Russell is a good reliever. That's 2 difference makers for this years playoff push. Can't expect to get that for peanuts. It was suppose to be Olt, Rameriz, CJ Edwards, and SS Sardinas for Garza and another player. Think it was James Russell.
I don't know anything about Russell but that package makes me want to give up baseball. Hopefully it stays dead.
Unfortunately those two can't score runs. The team needs more than to overpay for a two month rental and yes that's more than what I would pay for Garza and a good reliever. Maybe my mind would be at ease if our offense wasn't so damn inconsistent.Russell is a good reliever. That's 2 difference makers for this years playoff push. Can't expect to get that for peanuts.
Shut yo mouf.I'm hoping no trades are made for rentals or players having a career year at the age of 35 or older.

I'm actually more concerned with the offense. Next year going forward we will have the injured ones back and Perez is making a case to stay in the bigs. Price is nice but Stanton or Cargo is better.... at least for this teamDavid Price says hello.
Not sure if they're going to be overpaying or not but a deal between the Cubs and Rangers for Garza now seems imminent:Unfortunately those two can't score runs. Tweets coming through now. Sounds like Olt is coming for sure:Rangers, Cubs Nearing New Deal For Garza

Last Friday's Matt Garza trade talks between the Rangers and Cubs fell apart due to concerns following the exchange of medical reports. Roughly 72 hours later, Ken Rosethal of FOX Sports reports that Garza is unlikely to make his start for the Cubs tonight because a new trade between the two sides is near (Twitter link).
ESPN's Jerry Crasnick chimes in as well, noting that trade talks between the two sides are indeed back on, and an official from another team interested in Garza said the Rangers are "making a big push" to acquire him (Twitter links).
Reports last week mentioned third baseman Mike Olt and right-handers Neil Ramirez and C.J. Edwards as possible pieces heading from Texas to Chicago in the deal. It's unclear which prospect's medical reports triggered a red flag, however. The Cubs are said to have a slight preference for pitching prospects rather than position players in any Garza trade.
I'm definitely intrigued by Edwards. You shouldn't feel too bad about Olt. I'm happy to get him but he's no sure thing anymore. Still, very good return on Garza, IMO.I really hate that Edwards is included on a 2 month rental.
I thought I heard that he was pulled from his start on Friday. I just assumed it was because he was traded and never checked back. I just hate rentals. Texas has a hard time signing pitchers as it is. Its just sucks throwing out prospects when the return is questionable. Very questionable when you consider how poorly the offense is. They have to get a bat or this trade is basically just to watch Garza up close for two months.I'm definitely intrigued by Edwards. You shouldn't feel too bad about Olt. I guess it must have been Neil Ramirez's medical report that the Cubs didn't like.
