If that were the case why wouldn't the Eagles just leave him on the bench? Chip wanted a power back. I don't think it had that much to do with screwing the Cowboys. I think it had to do with Kelly thinking a power back is perfect for his system when in reality a scat back makes way more sense in his offense.
A power back for what? Just to say he had one? Because he certainly isn't acting like he wanted a power back with the purpose of calling power back-type plays.

Last week vs Atlanta he has a 4th and 1, but who does he hand it to? Matthews.

Early in the game today, they get a 3rd and 1, and what do they do? They throw it out of the shotgun.

I have no idea why he'd want a power back if he isn't going to use him nor run out of power formations in short yardage.

Love hearing Eagles fans complaining that they have no idea why they aren't succeeding like the team did in preseason. Preseason champions!!!!

Well he traded away McCoy and signed two big RBs in free agency and was pushing for Gore who is also a power back. So clearly he thought a bigger guy would do better in his offense. He was clearly wrong up to this point. NFL teams for some reason think that running from the shot gun is the same as running from a power formation. We saw the Seahawks fail doing this last week with Lynch in a short yardage situation.

I'll say this...Aaron Rodgers' WRs always seem sure-handed.
Ted Thompson has a great eye for WRs. He has a poor eye for defensive prospects, but he is really in tune with finding WRs who fit the WCO.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Wasn't it LT Fan who was saying that the Eagles were "saving Murray for Dallas"? They sure unleashed that secret weapon, didn't they?

Yep. Kelly keeps saying he doesn't care about time of possession. I think that's a fundamental flaw in his coaching.
He is going to have to adhere to some of the conventional concepts of NFL coaching if he wants to be successful.

Right now he's trying to be too cute. It's as if he's going out of his way to prove that he can win his way.

It is comical how people always buy into what they see in preseason.

Without "breaking down the game tape" my initial impressions are that aside from a couple plays, Collins was much better than Bernadeau. Seemed like all our significant drives were with Collins on the field.

I think he also drew less penalties as well.

"I wish Buddy Ryan was our defensive coordinator right now so he could punch Chip Kelly in the face."

Yes I did. You saw Murray in this game. Dallas simply shut him down. It's not hard to contain a runner like him when he has to run to the line to get the ball.
