I KNOW that Garrett was not an "obscenely" bad anything... coach, play caller, offensive coordinator, game manager, etc.
Up by 21 against Green Bay. All we had to do was coast. We run the ball 7 times total in the entire second half. SEVEN TIMES! Yes, Garrett was a terrible play caller. To deny it is agenda driven or retarded. You pick which one you are.

I'm not attempting to say all the mistakes Garrett has made during his tenure here weren't mistakes. Clearly there was.

I'm just fondly remembering all the hyperbole people spewed as they tried to make the case that he was the WORST _________ EVAR!

There's a game management blunder by Tom Coughlin... There's a play calling blunder by Andy Reid... HORRID! :lol

And actually fwiw I don't even consider the Reid call last night a mistake. Just pointing out the similarity.

I would have thought my "agenda" to mock people about this was fairly obvious. Sorry if it wasn't.

Full disclosure, I've got more lined up if we make the playoffs again.

I'm not denying he struggled at some of those things at times, but what I'm saying is the irrational Garrett hater acts like he's the only one who ever had those problems, when on a week to week basis you see other coaches making similar mistakes.

Pointing this out is only an"agenda" if you are a sensitive little bitch who doesn't want to admit you were wrong. Yea, Rev... I remember the stupid comments posters made and when the real facts reveal themselves over the course of an NFL game I will remind people of it by mocking them. Don't cry too hard! WAAAAAAH AGENDA!

Seems to me the real agenda is calling other people's posts an "agenda" cause you don't like it.
He was a terrible play caller. There's no defending it. As much as you can KNOW anything. Please tell me another offensive play caller who's had close to as many meltdowns as the Garrett has had with the Cowboys.

Please show me another offense that has gone from pass happy and schizophrenic to dominating, balanced, and time consuming like Dallas did from 2013 to 2014.

He was like a guy with a Ferrari who couldn't drive stick.

The reason why we weren't in the playoffs in 2011, 2012, and 2013 was because Garrett wouldn't let us have the offense we did in 2014. If he was the offensive play caller we would have likely been 10-6 and missed the playoffs for the 5th consecutive year.

If you're going to post this, I think you need to at least provide a link to the person who said it. And what in the hell is the point of pointing it out? Everyone know's Garrett isn't the worst coach ever.

This is silly. Truth is, a lot of the criticisms of Garrett were exactly right. Funny how he seems better now that competent assistants took over a lot of the duties Garrett struggled with.

Pointing out that other coaches screw up too doesn't make garrett's screw ups any better.

That's Schmitt master of the strawman.

I'm not defending that he was not great as a playcaller, that he's significantly better as just a head coach, that he cost us a game here or there which was the difference between 8-8 and 9-7 or 10-6 and making the playoffs in those seasons.

I'm just getting a good laugh at the memories of people who freaked out over this stuff like he was the only one it happened to, or that it made him one of the worst coaches in the league when he did it.

As much as you can KNOW anything. Please tell me another offensive play caller who's had close to as many meltdowns as the Garrett has had with the Cowboys.
Well that's obviously pointless. How many meltdowns are we talking about exactly? What if I disagree with what you classify as a meltdown, since you will clearly be overinclusive?

The reason why we weren't in the playoffs in 2011, 2012, and 2013 was because Garrett wouldn't let us have the offense we did in 2014.
That is flat out false as stated, maybe you'd like to rephrase.

In any case, when the Chiefs miss the playoffs this year, I hope everyone will be crossing Andy Reid off their head coach wish list, lest they be exposed as ignorant or hypocrites.

Of course not, but what it should do is put into perspective the frequency that other coaches -- ones considered top head coaches, even -- make similar mistakes.

Which is to say.... not that much less frequently.

Andy Reid does suffer from pass happiness. As much as nearly any coach, likely Jim Johnson is one of the reasons that's rarely caught up to him, but also he runs a west coast offense. Garrett's offense was much more vertical/ feast or famine.

There's also something to be said of the frequency with which coaches demonstrate their flaws and how much those flaws cost their team. Inside Garrett's relatively short play calling career you can attribute at least 6 losses to his failures. Outside of 2010 every one of those losses affected our playoff hopes.

I always thought Garrett would be much better as a CEO/walk around type of HC if he could get coordinators that are in charge of developing the game plans and gameday tactics. I think he struggles in that regard but is good at the high-level management/vision/roster construction type of stuff.

Redskins look so much like Dallas last year.

Five yards a pop on the run more often than not.

Makes things so much easier.

Keith Brooking should open up a school about pre-game pump up routines. Trent Williams could be his pet case.
