I don't quite agree with that. I think Carter could play. At least, he had the ability to, but his retardation kept getting in the way. And coaches throughout his college and professional career (including arena league) were convinced they could pull him through it. But in the end, that melted chromosome was just too powerful.
The coaches were around him every day in meetings and on the field. How did they miss he was missing a chromo?

Then why ever question them?

That's been my point all along. If you can't discuss what the coaches and FO are doing, then what's the point of even being on here?

I almost feel like you're trolling at this point.
It seems like I've covered this topic serval times already. Are you not hearing me or what? If there is anywhere that I have given you the impression that we can't discuss it is completely wrong. I honestly don't know how many times o can say it before you understand that point. If I didn't say it and I didn't mean it why are you continuing to go down this road. For what I hope is the last time, I'll say again, I have never wanted anyone to stop discussing anything. Wtheck would I? Is there any chance that you understand that now?

The point was that it is comical to see nerds being so sure in their ideas when you aren't a professional, have no idea why they made the decision they did, haven't seen Collins perform in practice, if you did you probably would have no idea what was going on. In the real world coaches laugh at this stuff. Like really hard. I promise you that is true. I've seen it at the lowest level, so I can't imagine what a real coach would think of it. For some reason it gave me a little chuckle thinking of one of you guys trying to tell Garrett he's a dumbass and try to spar with him in the real world. I thought it would be awesome to point that out to you. I also figured that some would react this way because nobody ever brings it up.

I've scrolled through threads and rolled my eyes many times at all of the computer coaches here. If that makes you mad I'm sorry. If you interpret that as meaning that I don't want a one to discuss anything you are wrong.

I thought it would be funny to see who got pissed when someone brought a different perspective. Or questioned their/your knowledge. I get bored with the same old perspective and discussion of very single day. I guess everyone else is happy with that? I mean, all four of us around here...

I shoulda just been like - haha ya dumbass have no idea...

You would have seen that I was just screwing with you and poking fun. Which I am but yall are all serious about it. Which is fine because it has occupied my time.

And it is also arrogance as well. Coaches and NFL professionals are wrong. A lot. They are immersed it in, know it better, but they are still prone to mistakes and above all, hubris. It gets worse when there is money, expectation and other factors weighing into the situation.

Calling a coach out for being a dumb ass is almost questioning his judgment, not his technical skill. Dave Campo was a good football coach. He never would have made it where he was if he were a complete fool. Yet, he did foolish things. Wade Phillips is one of the greatest defensive coordinators of all time. Yet, he also does some dumb things that even the unqualified are perfectly within their rights to question.

Skid: You are a football idiot for questioning the coaches.

Me: Dude, that could apply to all kinds of debates that happen on this board.

Skid: I didn't mean I want to squash debate, just saying you're an idiot when it comes to football.

Me: I'm no expert, but I know a little bit about football, and I still think what you're suggesting would limit discussion because that's what opinions are for.

Skid: DOOD! Are you listening to me?!?!?

Me: :doh

Oh, and nobody ever brings up questioning the coaches, cause it's a stupid concept on a msg board where all we do every day is question the coaches. Good lord, man.

Who said they missed it? I said they thought they could pull him through it and get him to play to his talent. And regardless if you liked Carter or not, he did have some talent. And in the end, it was his stupidity that ended his career. Not his lack of talent.

And thank you for proving my point. They arrogantly thought they could make a retard start thinking.

Carter was "talented" athletically. Takes more than that to be a successful QB. He had a decent arm, could move, but a ten cent brain. If they thought they could pull that off, they really lost their minds.

I'm starting to think that your brain isn't fully functioning. Do I need to talk slower? Do you think we are trying to change the rules and oppresse you or something. You can talk about anything that you want. So can I. Somebody might call you a dumbass for it though. That is pretty much SOP around here. Been that way for years.

Yeah, I agree, so you just feel the need to reinforce that? Is that what this is all about? Because, so far, you have just looked like an idiot.

There's a lot of truth to this as well. The thing is with Collins is that nobody has a clue why he's not at T but it might be a football reason.

It might be, or it might be that the coaches are being stupid in their personnel decisions. I'm quite sure it's one of the two.

Well, you have stated in his thread many times that I'm trying to limit discussion. For some reason you are stuck on that. You might be the last person in the planet to figure out that I don't mean that. Yet you keep hammering the issue. So yes, if like to reinforce again that I'm not trying to stop discussions. Did you catch that yet?

So, you have apparently missed the 3 thousand times I have said that if you include the caveat "you are no expert, who are you to question the coach" then you automatically limit discussion.

Yeah, I'm the one being thick.

It could very well be a football reason. But has anyone said so to put it to rest?

"We want La'el to compete at guard as it is his best chance to contribute this season."

Okay. I would accept that. Sometimes the fact we don't know is what brings the question. That does not mean that the question is moot.

Collins did play some right tackle in OTA walk throughs, maybe they were satisfied with that.

All I know is that they are missing an opportunity. That's my deal. They can have their reasons, but if they are motivated to try a fringe player like Wilber at a new position, why not get your future exposure?

I proved your point? Ok. That was the point I was making, when I said he had talent but a melted chromosome.

Good talk, Russ.

You made the point that they were trying to get him through it and play to his "talent", Clark.

I never in a million years imagined that you or anyone would take anything that I've said literally enough to actually limit what they say. Do you really believe that? You are being childish or ignorant if you really. So, you thought I brought this up to quiet people? lol really?

I'm in here talking shit just like everyone else does.

Yeah buddy, I'm a real authority wielder up in this mug. Watch your back! I'm gonna shut folks down for questioning coaches!

I didn't see anywhere he said people shouldn't talk about what the coaches are doing. Only that people carry on like they're some kind of subject matter expert on whatever the topic may be. And that is an undeniable daily occurrence around here. :lol
