Happy with the Dom Smith pick, although I thought they would draft someone that would be closer to the bigs. Smith may be the best hitting prospect in this draft.

I'm wondering how much the adderall thing played into the Cubs passing on Gray.

I don't know, but the guy the Cubs did draft put up alltimer numbers at the college level this year, so it might have just been deciding they liked the hitter better.

I think that must be it. Everything I'm reading about this guy is pretty impressive. Baseball America has the guy with an 80 grade power (80 being the highest number). One article I read said that he is just outside of the top 20 all time in NCAA HR per game and they switched to the new composite bats just before his freshman year. Apparently HRs have dropped by 34% in his conference since they ditched aluminum bats and it is estimated he would have hit 49 HRs this past season if aluminum bats were still around.

So we'll see. The power is legit, that's for sure. Hope he pans out, ideally as a third baseman.

Looking to trade a lefty reliever. Will take a Klondike Bar. Act quick and Michael Kirkman can be giving up runs for your team.

Have you guys been paying attention to this Puig guy in LA. That SOB is red hot.

The Braves may have to throw at his head tonight to break his OODA Loop.

Ya, he's pissing me off. I had him on my fantasy baseball watch list since week 1 of the season and I learned of his callup 10 minutes after broke only to see someone else had picked him up first.

Yu pitching today. Had guys on first and third in the first inning before he was able to get out of it. Second inning two on and 0 outs at the moment. This is a common occurance.

Jose Bautista is such a fucking crybaby. He was mad at a called strike on the first pitch of his at-bat, proceeded to swing at two pitches way out of the strike zone, said something to the unp, got tossed, and then threw his bat and helmet out onto the playing field. :lol

Oh, and they showed the first pitch on the pitch tracker, and it was most definitely a strike.

I'm in LA now for a National Homeland Security conference. Last Tuesday night we went to the Dodger's game and hit hit 2 HRs. The dude looks great in person. Even as a Rangers fan I was excited to watch him..

I saw the Rangers took a bunch of right handers and a bunch of folk that left people scratching their heads. I hope Daniels isn't getting the "I know better than everyone attitude" and is starting to draft like Jerry!

Thats one area where he needs to improve. The high round picks in the last several years havent panned out at all. I have high hopes for last years class so maybe he has improved there.

Aww, don't feel too bad. The Twins took an infielder that is blind in one eye.

WTF?

Dominick Smith...the more I read about the guy and watch vids I get excited. Smooth swing and is getting rave reviews for his interviews...and the guy is only 17, so he is mature.
