He and that pencil-necked Merton Hanks are in the top 5 most hated by players for me.
Oh how I hated chicken-neck Hanks. He used to do this chicken strut everytime he did anything at all one the field.....

Rickey watters too. Hated that bastard with an almost unhealthy passion.

I hated all of the 49ers. Especially Steve Young. When he was clutching that Lombardi and screeching about how they could never EVER EVER take it away from them (well, really he meant him), my hatred reached it's pinnacle.

That was gay. Also, towards the end of the game when he was doing the "take the monkey off my back" thing.

Kinda weird that there are several players on the field, coaches on the sideline (Avezzano) and Pat Summerall who are now dead.
It's like an M Night Shymalan sports movie out there.

I hated Brent Jones with his weird, flat ass.

Whew. For a second I thought this was an announcement that our thanksgiving game was on the NFL Network this year instead of the local channels.

They got the ball back after a turnover on downs with 2:32 left and just jammed it down the Packers' throats running it.

If that happened now, Red Pube would call a three passes, run off :15 seconds and ice his own punter.
If that happened now and we tried to call three runs it would be a three and out as well.

All in all, your boyfriend learned nothing from that era. It is clear and plain as day.

It is not clear until he has an OL to work with. He may not have learned enough but saying "nothing" is hardly justified.

Garrett obviously has a big say in personnel decisions and deserves blame for the OL being in the condition that it is in. You could argue that a HC should not be making those decisions and that the HC should have a strong GM who is capable of building what the HC needs, and I'd agree with you, but Garrett quite obviously has a say in our personnel, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

And yet here we are, going into Garrett's 3rd full year as a HC and the state of the OL is still up in the air.

Do you think Jerry pulled Bernadeau and Livings out of his ass because he watches so much film in between organizing boxing matches and jacking off to the artwork in the new stadium?

Give me a break.

I agree with all that, but I still don't think he's learned "nothing" -- after all, we've taken a first round OL now twice in years when he's been involved here after never doing it at all in Jerry's tenure.

The problem is it's hard to fault him for being bad at personnel. It would be like if you had a company and you needed an HR manager and you went out and hired someone to be your CEO and then said, "Oh, you've gotta run the HR department too." Well, probably not the best fit for that guy. Even doing his best he's probably going to mess things up in that regard. The real solution would be to go get an HR guy.

I know, I know.... in our company, we will never have a separate HR guy, so we need a CEO that does both things. So I've said many times now we need an elite HC.

I'm sure he was on board with Smith, but it seems like Garrett wanted Eiffert (or Floyd, but probably Eiffert) this year.

I think it's fairly obvious the credit/blame for picking Frederick goes to Jerry.
