It was against a rookie pitcher so I won't go overboard, but often times teams go on a run after their team makes a trade. Shows management is willing to help.Schwarberlike.
I saw that the Mets put up 15 yesterday. That is probably more runs than they scored in the 7 games combined that they played against the Cubs this season.
A lot of people feel that way but I disagree. If they get a good package, thenyeah they need to pull the trigger . But I feel like a lot of teams are trying to lowball them, and if that's the case they can just keep him and try again in the off-season.There is no way they can justify keeping him. They need to rebuild & he is far and away the guy who will bring the highest return. They need to trade him before the offseason too because there will be a lot of very attractive free agent starters on the market. I agree that they shouldn't take just anything but I think it is almost certain they will get a nice prospect package in return. It would be buffoonery if they sat on him because they didn't get exactly what they want.
Well, I wonder how highly regarded those prospects were at the time. I really don't know because there wasn't nearly the coverage of prospects back then in the earlier days of the internet. My guess is that the scouts & certainly the Phillies organization considered it a quality package at the time. They wouldn't have given Schilling away for nothing. It just didn't turn out how they probably hoped it would in that trade.I remember the Phillies trading away Curt Schilling a while back and the package was Travis Lee, Nelson Figueroa, Vicente Padilla, and one other scrub whose name escapes me right now. If it's that kind of package, no thanks. And reports I keep reading are closer to that than an actual quality package.
I would not be surprised if they flipped Reyes for more prospects.Tulo to TOR & Reyes to COL as part of the deal. Interesting.
It's really the only thing that makes sense, IMO.I would not be surprised if they flipped Reyes for more prospects.
I would say that you usually don't even make the playoffs. #RangerswaytooToronto seems pretty content being the team trying to beat team 10-9. Not sure you can win a WS that way.
Probably not. That lineup is pretty ridiculous right now though. Should be fun to watch but you're right in that they probably can't win it all unless they go out and get a front line starter as well.Toronto seems pretty content being the team trying to beat team 10-9. not only do they not have front line starters, they have a shit bullpen now too. Offense is the best in baseball hands down, but we've seen time and time again you need the pitching to win it allProbably not. That lineup is pretty ridiculous right now though. I remember the Rangers way getting them within one out of a title. Maybe does work...for 26 outs.I would say that you usually don't even make the playoffs. #Rangerswaytoo
I know you are trying to be funny but those teams actually had some pitching. Wasnt the norm for most Rangers teams and why I would consider them for the typical Rangers model.I remember the Rangers way getting them within one out of a title. Maybe does work...for 26 outs.
Ever been to Houston? :outtahereStark saying that Hamels plans to block a trade to Houston, leaving the Dodgers and Rangers as his likely destinations. Not sure why he'd do that. Houston looks great and the Rangers forgot how to range.
Reyes is a defensive liability now...his offensive production does not match up with how he is paid. It's really the only thing that makes sense, IMO.
Houston is a great place to live, especially if you have money.Ever been to Houston? :outtahere
