So how much turnover are we looking at for the heat if they lose tonight?

Some have floated the idea that Bosh could be moved.

I can see Miller retiring. I think he was on the cusp of retiring last season.

Allen, Lewis, Chalmers, Jones and Battier are signed for one more year. I'd axe Lewis because he's added nothing to the team.

Birdman in on a one year deal.

I'd probably look to move Chalmers and/or Battier in a trade. There's a team out there who'll be willing to take a couple of expiring contracts.
I would move Wade if I were them, but I don't think they want to at the moment.

However, if they lose tonight, I can see him griping even more into the offseason about his perceived lack of involvement in the offense. He already said the other night that his and Bosh's struggles are partly due to their lack of involvement.

Does that mean by design, or that Lebron isn't getting it to them? Either way, he isn't pleased by it.

If they lose tonight, I expect significant turnover.

This offseason will be big for them because next year Lebron can opt out...that Clev team with Irving, Waiters, maybe Noel might look pretty good to him.
I think Lebron is going back to Cleveland regardless of what happens this year or next.

I think he honestly wanted to bring a championship to that region and he has his regrets about how things ended there. While the owner made his mistakes too, I think he'd honestly like to go back and change how he approached the decision and all that other stuff.

As you said, they have talent there and it's better than any cast he ever had during his tenure there. They could be deadly with Lebron in the fold.

You think he goes back after Gilbert dropped that email beat down after he left?

I could see it happen for sure. They could make some kind of truce and he would be the hero returning home to win the city a title. He'd be loved more than ever there now.

Gilbert has since admitted to not handling that well. Lebron himself has said he would do it different as well.

I can see them letting bygones be bygones and reuniting to bring a championship to the city. On top of the fact that they have more talent now than they did when he was there before, I think Gilbert would also be more willing to reach into his wallet than before being as I'm sure he realized that the biggest reason for Lebron leaving was feeling like he was never going to have enough around him in Cleveland.

Signing an over the hill Shaq and an average Jamison is not good enough.

The problem with the Shaq and Jamison signings is that Lebron asked for those guys.

Is that so?

Well, maybe he asked for the type of player that he thought had a realistic chance of being acquired? :shrug

Often times star players ask for guys that they know and not what is best for the team. I still remember Kobe going off on wanting to trade Kidd for Bynum, but clearly Bynum was the better fit for the team at the time.

Speaking of Kidd, he retired today. I guess that leaves him a little more time to pistolwhip his wife some more.

All members of that 2011 Mavs team will forever hold a special place with me.

Great career for Kidd and I'm glad he got a championship with Dallas before he rode off into the sunset.

As an aside...Anthony Bennett is going to be the best player from this draft. Beast.

I've heard stories of Jordan beating the drum for players who turned out to be scrubs as well. Additional proof of his "eye" for talent is his track record as an Owner.

Moral of the story: Superstars don't know best when it comes to building a team. That's why it's good to have a strong front office in place who won't cave in to every idiotic idea that their star player comes up with.

Hard not to cave when you're trying to keep the only player on your team worth a damn.

Yeah...I was trying to find some instances, but there was some stuff coming out when the Bobcats were just getting progressively worse about how Jordan asked for players that were just not good anymore.

Jordan has been a horrible talent evaluator.

Crazy how someone that good has such a bad eye for talent. Just because you were a good player doesn't mean you'll make a good GM, but it is amazing how the GOAT could be so incapable of spotting a good player.

Even Matt Millen had a moment here and there. Jordan is still 0-fer.

How many great players make great management types though? Not many...although I give Brid credit for putting this Pacers team together.

Ya, Bird got a solid Pacers team to overachieve as their coach and then stepped into management role and made them better. He gets credit for drafting Hibbert and George.

I wanna say Joe Dumars was a decent talent evaluator as well. Didn't he put together most of the mid-2000's Pistons team?

Yeah...Dumars...and it would be a huge oversight to not mention Jerry West, but there is not a huge group of former great players who were great management types.

I love game 7's.

Feels like we're gearing up to watch a premiere heavyweight fight.
