~yawn~

Just like they'd never draft a first round OL. No, wait. Just like they'd never commit to running the ball with Garrett as coach. No, wait. Just like they'd never sign Hardy. No, wait. Just like La'el Collins would never sign here. No, wait. And on, and on, and on...
Except all of that isn't so. I think most knew we had Tyron near the top of our list before we drafted him. As for Garrett that was true if he remained OC. With Hardy/Collins it was more a matter of if they'd choose to come here.

And none of that has to do with Romo and our QB situation. Jerry has been committed to Tony since he became the starter. He upped it when he re-signed him. Unless Romo gets injured again Jerry will ride that train til he is no longer an option. I'd be willing to put money on us not going all in for a 1st round QB while Romo is still here since JJ and FO will want any resources to contribute while Romo's 'window' is still open. If Romo is still a viable option to start we aren't investing in a high end QB to compete for the starting job with him resulting in one of them having to sit the bench.

Fine by me. We trade them an OG whose knee is about to give out for a key piece to our puzzle.
Not only that but I think this is the last year of his contract. Thing is, he may well be worth more to the Cowboys as a backup than they would receive as compensation in a trade. At most they would what, get back that 6th that they pissed away…sorry traded away (trying to keep an open mind) to get back into the draft to take a blocking TE this year? It has already been mentioned in this thread that Leary is a pretty damn good insurance policy who is still on a very cheap contract.

Edit: just realized you were talking about trading him for a RB

Yea, he's on fire right now.

It's been a while, or at least it appears that way, that he was the main guy in a negotiation. He's pretty much left that stuff to Steven and whomever else.

For him to take the reigns on this one means he absolutely had to have Collins.

What's great about it is there's no downside. Collins isn't a troubled player and we're only paying him the minimum for the next 2 years.

If you are trying to deny each and every one of those things weren't talking points here, you're full of it.
You can point out almost anything that some fans have said regarding just about any possibility. It's not like all of that was said by the majority or by me. But either way, none of it has any bearing on the topic regarding our QB situation.

If Romo doesn't suffer a potentially career ending injury between now and next April, I'd be willing to put money on us not drafting a QB in round 1 next year.

Has to be the best Dallas press conference since we hired Parcells

Man-- there is some mojo working with this team right now. Got a real deep mix of camaraderie, swag, team, and discipline going on. Can't believe this fell out the way it did-- but man am I pumped that we got Collins on this roster. Love the kid's attitude and talent.

It is almost impossible to watch that and not get excited.

I'd be very on board with that. Unfortunately, our best match is probably Philly. :lol
What RB are you trading for from Philly? If we wanted either of their guys we would have signed them in the first place.

Hey, maybe we should see if we can trade him for Ajayi...

I would rather let Leary rot on the bench than trade him to Philly.
