I still say Jordan but it's pretty damn close.

If they played 7 games of 1 on 1 I'd say MJ takes it 4-3.

No chance. In 1 on 1, Lebron would bully Jordan down in the post.

Now in real basketball, Lebron is getting closer and closer. I would still take Jordan over him now, but by the time his career is over I expect Lebron to be tops.

Word must have gotten back to Wade that I questioned his ability the other night. He's making me eat my words.

That 22/4/3 line prompted guys to prematurely start talking GOAT again?

Interesting.

LeBron Vs Jordan

GOAT?
Seriously?

I wouldn't even take him over a Kobe Bryant in their primes, much less Jordan.

Now, things could change in a 4 or 5 years, but right now, I don't even know how this could be a debate.

This is the same guy who just under 2 years ago completely folded like a bitch and didn't even bother to try and show up in the 4th quarter of 3 straight Finals games. And we're asking if THIS guy is better than MJ?

While he has gotten much better in crunch time and at the end of games since the Boston series last year, it's not like he's this ferocious closer with a killer instinct now either. Michael Jordan has more of that in his pinky toe than Lebron has in his whole body.

Hell, Kobe is the closest I've seen to MJ in that regard.

Jordan didn't need to join 2 other all stars in order to win his rings. He was the unquestioned leader and go-to-guy on his teams and he often times willed his teams to victory.

And while Lebron may be the superior physical specimen, I still don't buy that he would get the upper hand on MJ either in a one on one, just based on MJ's relentless drive to get the better of his opponents that no one could match.

Lebron is doing things that we haven't seen before and he is awesome to watch. I have far more appreciation for what he does than I did a few years ago. But putting him in a debate over the GOAT is way too premature.

Let's revisit this in 4 years or so, and maybe then things will look a little different.

Also, what a lot of people fail to realize in the Jordan vs. LeBron debates is LeBron game is more comparable to Magic Johnson than to MJ's.

As you mentioned, Ace, Kobe is a closer match to MJ than LeBron. Kobe patterned his game and his demeanor after MJ.

LeBron is more of a facilitator. He's like Magic in that regard. He can be a dominant scorer but he's not wired to be in constant attack mode like MJ and Kobe.

He's better than Magic because he's a much better shooter/scorer than Magic.

Yeah, Lebron probably is better than Magic but if I'm starting a team with a 22 year old version of either Jordan or Lebron, I take Jordan every time.

No way. Magic was the better overall player. LeBron may be a better scorer but Magic was an accomplished scorer. He just didn't look for his shot as much as LeBron because Magic played PG.

Magic was a better rebounder, passer, FT shooter, & better in the clutch.

Yeah I'd take magic as well.

Also, criminally underrated in these types of discussions is Oscar Robertson. He might be better than all of them.

What a great series this has been.

I still think Miami wins in 6, but it would be great to get a game 7.

Talent wise I don't think anyone comes ahead of Lebron, but all three (MJ, Magic and Kobe) are bigger winners just because they want it more, a lot more than Lebron. It's like comparing Rice to Moss.

The one thing Miami always seems to struggle with is a team with height and/or a strong frontcourt. Indiana is a good match up.

Right.

And that's a very good example too. Lebron is probably going to get at least one more title before his career is over, but unless he becomes this monster crunch time guy, I can't put him over Kobe or anywhere near MJ.

And it's always going to hurt him, at least in my eyes, that he had to join forces with 2 other guys to get to the top.

Yup, but that's been the case since they put this Heat team together. They still lack quality big men who can do the dirty work and be counted on to do most of their work down low.

All I see Bosh doing in this series is shooting spot up 3's from the corners. They have plenty of guys who can do that on that team already, so what they really need from him is to hang out around the paint and bang around with West and Hibbert, but we know he isn't going to do that.

Bosh has never really been a banger though throughout his entire career. They have Birdman and Haslem, but they lack a big man who can bang around. I thought it was a mistake when they basically sold their first round pick to Philly and passed on Moultrie or Ezeli...at some point they have to keep a low priced rookie around.

Yea, they gotta get a rebounding/post defending type on that team.

Check out this stat:

Hibbert and West have 82 rebounds in the four games. The Heat's Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem, Chris Andersen and Battier have a combined 59. Bosh, whose excuses for the worst rebounding season of his career got tiresome months ago, is averaging a woeful 3.3 rebounds a game in the series. He is getting devoured by Hibbert and West and was long before a tweaked ankle might've slowed him on Tuesday.

If the Pacers had one more scorer, I think they would take this series.
