So a small school guy who you want to change his position and make him play in more space?

Ya, no thanks.

Seems like more of a fit for a 3-4 team at OLBer. He has some nice pass rush ability, if I'm drafting him as the Cowboys I better think he can bulk up and play DE.

Four teams have scheduled a visit for Virginia Tech T Laurence Gibson.

Those four teams: the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos. Gibson is one of the most athletic offensive linemen in this class, but he needs a lot of work. We doubt he draws more than a fifth through seventh-round selection, but many teams like to invest in athletes in that area. Gibson has the most experience on the left side.

I hope we get Vince Mayle in the later rounds.

Then, I hope we find out he likes to eat Chex cereal, so we could say, 'the Chex in the Mayle'

Iowa State dismissed senior DL David Irving worked out for the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks.

The ex-Iowa State prospect was dismissed from the program and did not play in 2014, as he was charged with fifth-degree theft, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief in connection with a student riot back in April. In 2013, Irving was also arrested on a domestic assault charge against his girlfriend. It will be interesting to see which team, if any, rolls the dice in the draft on Irving. Brandt notes that Irving "had a good workout, went through some bag drills, and is a potential sleeper prospect in the 2015 NFL Draft."

Fifth degree theft? How many degrees of theft do you need?

Draft’s top RBs to visit Valley Ranch

David Moore

The Cowboys have four running backs on the roster. Jones is excited by the addition of Darren McFadden in free agency and maintains the club has covered itself to the point where it doesn’t have to select a back in next month’s draft.

“We have a done a good job getting ready to play if we didn’t do another thing at running back,’’ Jones said. “But if that is where our opportunity is, we will take it.’’

The closest the Cowboys will come to finding a replacement for DeMarco Murray is the draft. Jones confirmed that Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon, Georgia’s Todd Gurley, Nebraska’s Ameer Abdullah, Indiana’s Tevin Coleman and Boise State’s Jay Ajayi will visit Valley Ranch in the days and weeks heading up to the draft.

“The top backs, all of those top backs, and we may have a down-the-line guy,’’ Jones said. “The guys we bring in will be full-time backs, not a specialist or third-down guy.’’

Source: Travis Lee to visit both New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys

By
Bo Marchionte

March 11, 2015

Per a source, Miles College defensive back Travis Lee has an upcoming visit with the New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys. To the general public Lee is about as unknown as his college that is about a 50 minute drive from Tuscaloosa where the Alabama Crimson Tide call home.

The only people who currently know about him now are the only people that truly matter…NFL teams.

He is a long armed (32”) defender at 5-foot-11, 178 pounds and has been gaining ground on other prospects. His speed gives him the ability to cover ground quickly and enough of a physical presence to make an impact in run support. Lee really established himself at the Gridiron Classic where he held his own against receivers from Texas, Baylor and Missouri. The week helped propel him amongst plenty of small-school prospects to establish himself as a legit prospect in the eyes of NFL Scouts.

For his birthday he got one of the best gifts a small-school prospect could ask for, an opportunity to workout at another schools Pro Day. In front of roughly 15 NFL Scouts he ran an impressive 4.47 40-yard dash outside in uninviting conditions. The weather did not cooporate, but Lee as well as the other prospects fought through the less than desirable conditions to forge through the drills. Lee had six interceptions for 37 yards along with seven pass break-ups in 2014. He also has 30 total tackles on the season.

UCLA LB Eric Kendricks will visit the Cowboys on April 6, according to Dane Brugler.
Kendricks is an absolute stud, but the Cowboys might not be the first due to their attachment to Sean lee and Anthony Hitchens. Kendricks is aggressive when moving forward to make the tackle, but he is also comfortable and aware ins space. He is a three down linebacker, which is tough to find.
