Goodell will assign it to John Mara for an objective review and decision.

I'm working on it, my inside sources here in Iowa don't have an answer for that :)
We will anxiously be awaiting your answer.

I honestly think with the addition of Hardy and being close to a championship, neither Tony or Jason will balk at restructuring.

Why would they balk to begin with? Restructuring deals always benefits the player because he gets more guaranteed money.

They better, they both know damn well and good that the clock is ticking on them both. If we make another playoff run and look on the verge while Hardy goes off for 10-15 sacks, these two better do what it takes to keep him and Dez. Brady took less so that the Patriots could afford to add more pieces, you'd think someone like Romo or Witten who have never won but have certainly made more than enough for their great grandkids to live comfortable would do the same.

On the suspension front, you guys are on a need to know basis, and this is what you need to know.

"He remains on the commissioner’s exempt list and met recently with Roger Goodell. A league spokesman said the case is being reviewed and they will have a decision as soon as possible."

So we do still need a DE.

Can't count on him being here any more than a guy like Melton or other 1 year contract guys we've had in the past (such as Kevin Hardy, ironically).

Sort of. The way I'd look at it is if the right DE is there at 27 you still take him. Hell that has always been my opinion. If the value is there take the DE, let him learn for a year and then move on from Hardy. If the DE isn't there. Not a big deal, make sure Hardy behaves himself most of the year and then get a contract worked out with him. It's always easier to resign your own guys then it is to sign guys in free agency. Just make sure you lock Hardy up before he hits free agency next year.

It's possible we'd get a 3rd round pick back for a one year monster rental? Takes the sting out of the one year deal... Not a bad strategy considering Romo's window is quickly closing. Do what you can while it's still open.

I also don't like that it's a one year deal. But at the money he is getting I'm glad it's not long term, if that makes sense.

Overall very happy they got a deal done.

I was hoping to get him locked up for a few years and kind of take advantage of the shitty situation he is in. Still, I'm thrilled to have him and hopefully he will grow to love this place and sign a new contract after a dominant year.

So what?

I doubt we were getting our hands on a rusher close to Hardy where we pick, nor would they be ready to contribute regardless.

This was a move intended to win games while you also address the future.

We would have had to have even more out of this draft had we not got him.

BTW, this does make a CB in the first round pretty much a sure thing.

How does that make you feel?
