Worse than a person that would kill their own teammate?
Come on now. One incident was done with intent and the other was an accident that could have happened to any one of us.

But, even so... A national embarrassment. :lol

I think the guy is a POS off the field but I don't think a jag like Randall is going to cut it. I would be fine with Rice on a one year deal and drafting a RB in the 1st. I would love Gurley but have to wonder if we take him how long it will take him to get over that ACL.

The Hardy article makes it seem likely that he will be suspended atleast 2 games. The league wants 6 under the new policy and the PA wants 2 because this occured when the old policy was in place. I would sign him if it was a cheap contract but the league is going to fight this pretty hard.
He just missed a whole season on the commissioners list. The league would never win a case for another 6 games.

Well, I'm for drafting Gurley at 27 if he's there. We've had good luck with Georgia Bulldog running backs before. :art
The problem with Gurley isn't just his current injury. He also missed games in 2013 with injuries. I don't want another injury prone RB. Especially not with a first round pick.

Yeah, that scares be a bit too. I think I'd rather go the safer route with Gordon if we were to take a first round RB.

do i want Ray Rice as a cowboy? no. I think his career was winding down anyways, he regressed considerably since his couple huge years.

Ray Rice is 1 of about 100 NFL players on active rosters who has put his hands on a woman. The only difference is he got caught on tape. It is disgusting and he's a horrible human being for it, but I would like to see him get a second chance.

If (when?) Dez Bryant's video comes out, I can all but guarantee half of you will say he deserves to remain in the NFL

That would be a national embarrassment to sign a POS who would treat a woman that way.
If it was some kind of beatdown where he kept hitting her I'd agree. What I see in the video is a drunk guy throwing one punch in a situation where they were both being aggressive.

He needs to stay off the booze and go to counseling and prove that he's done acting like a violent drunk, but do I think he's the kind of guy who still goes home and beats up his wife? No, I don't really think so.

According to ESPN, we offered Murray 4 years at 24 million with 12 million guaranteed.

Those were the exact numbers that I said would be my max, so the offer was right where it needed to be. Maybe they could've upped the guaranteed money to 15, but it most likely wouldn't have mattered with Philly's offer being so much better.

I was thinking we'd go up to about 6 per year, maybe 6.5. I would've been totally fine with 4 years, 26 million and about 15 guaranteed but as you said, that wouldn't have gotten it done either way so whatever.

As for RB's, I think we need to draft one in the first 3 rounds, preferably the first 2, and then sign a guy like Spiller to split carries. An Ajayi/Spiller/Williams trio would be fine by me, although if Gurley is there at 27 I think we should probably take him.

And in a twist – one league source said this was in contradiction to Jones' father, whose sentimentality for Murray would have had Dallas paying between $6 million to $7 million a year to retain the running back.

If we draft one early I am comfortable with Randle. He is an idiot, but I have no doubts he'd go over 100 if he got carries.

DeMarco Murray apologizes to Cowboys fans for hurting their feelings

Jon Machota

Some Dallas Cowboys fans who were unhappy that DeMarco Murray signed with the rival Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, took to social media, posting pictures and videos of themselves burning their No. 29 Murray jerseys.

The league’s leading rusher met with media members in Philadelphia after inking his five-year, $42 million deal.

Near the end of an 11-minute press conference, Murray was asked if he had seen the images of his Cowboys jersey being lit on fire. Murray chuckled and said he had not.

“I don’t take it personal,” he said. “I’m sure their feelings are hurt. I apologize for that. I’m ready to move on and I’m glad to be a part of this organization.”

Murray said his final decision wasn’t about financial security. His choice came down to winning. Despite receiving “a couple” of better offers, Murray picked the Eagles because he feels they have a “great chance” to win a Super Bowl.

Although he was asked twice, Murray would not say if the Eagles have a better chance than the Cowboys.

“Obviously, Dallas, they have a special place in my heart,” Murray said. “I had an incredible four years there, growing as a person, a man, a father, a husband and a football player, so I can’t thank [Jerry Jones and his family] enough for taking a chance on me coming out of Oklahoma.

“Coach Garrett, an unbelievable guy, unbelievable person. The things he’s taught me over the last four years, I hope to continue to carry on and continue to try to be great.”

While talking about the friendships he’s built while playing for the Cowboys, Murray specifically mentioned Tony Romo, Jason Witten and Dez Bryant. And because he’s close with several of his former teammates, Murray said he’s sure that emotions will be high when the Eagles play the Cowboys later this year.

“I understand the business side of it,” Murray said. “There are no hard feelings. Those are great people in that organization. I’m very, very blessed to have spent four years there, learning a lot from those guys.

“Some things just don’t work out. You just got to move on.”

Yuk. Surely Dallas can do better than McFadden.

He didn't really fail, though.

Failing is when you have similar offers avd the player chooses another organization. We failed to sign Nnamdi back in 2011, but not here.

We had a budget avd we stuck to it and the player chose the offer that was far superior to the one he was receiving from us.

Big difference.

Normally, he wouldn't have stuck to budget and would have over-spent, so in that light you could say he failed in his mind.

It seems like the Eagles are sign and cut bunches of free agents every season.

Jason Peters was their best signing, and unfortunately for them he got hurt.

Mathews was a great signing, but they seriously overpaid for Murray.
