That sucks.

About the best one left that might be reasonably priced is Adrian Clayborn.

Vince Wilfork tweets Patriots will not pick up option

The Patriots will not be picking up Vince Wilfork's option for 2015.

That's the word from the big man himself, who posted a lengthy thank you to the fans, coaches and fellow teammates on Twitter Thursday morning.

Wilfork was confident in his ability to continue playing, and noted that he has plenty of gas left in the tank.

"I will take my time, think things through, take into consideration many things, but mainly family and see where life goes from there," he said toward the end of a lengthy post.

Wilfork, 33, was owed a $4 million roster bonus in five days, which could have been the reasoning for Bill Belichick's timing.

His three-year, $22.5 million contract which he signed last year was always looked at as one on the pricey side for a player in his early thirties despite the fact that, over 766 snaps this season, he was still one of the best at his position.

In the note, Wilfork mentions how he will alwas be a fixture in New England and how he'll always call the area his home. Now, we'll see if his thought process leads him to retire on a high note, or end his career in another jersey.

Report: Three NFC clubs showing interest in Stephen Paea

A well-regarded free agent defensive tackle reportedly has garnered interest from three NFC clubs.

Arizona, Dallas and Washington have all inquired on Bears defensive tackle Stephen Paea, Jen Lada of CSN Chicago reported Saturday.

Also, Lada reports that the Bears “are not in the mix” for the 26-year-old Paea.

Paea (6-1, 300) is PFT’s 34th-ranked free agent. He notched a career-high six sacks for Chicago in 2014. A fifth-year pro from Oregon State, Paea has recorded 94 career tackles and 12 sacks.

The Bears are transitioning from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense next season. Arizona and Washington employ base 3-4 schemes, while Dallas runs the 4-3.

Saints giving Mark Ingram $16M

The New Orleans Saints and running back Mark Ingram have reached agreement on a four-year deal, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The deal is worth $16 million over the four years, sources said.

Ingram confirmed that he is staying in New Orleans via Twitter on Saturday night.

Ingram, a former first-round draft choice and Heisman Trophy winner out of Alabama, finally had a breakout season in 2014. The 25-year-old ran for a career-high 964 yards and nine touchdowns, despite missing three games with a broken hand early in the year. He also earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl as an alternate.

Ingram's career got off to a slow start, thanks to a combination of minor injuries, inconsistent production and an overcrowded Saints backfield that relegated him mostly to short-yardage and base-running packages. As a result, he had just 1,462 yards through three years, with one career 100-yard game.

However, the 5-foot-9, 215-pounder finally got an opportunity to be featured as a workhorse back last season after the Saints traded away Darren Sproles and fellow backs Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson were injured.

Ingram responded with four 100-yard games in a six-week span, including a career-best 172 yards in a 44-23 victory over the Green Bay Packers on "Monday Night Football."

Ingram has a total of 2,426 yards and 20 rushing touchdowns in 50 career regular-season games, plus 53 career receptions for 288 yards.

The Saints plan to release the veteran Thomas, a move that will save them at least $1.735 million (or $2.15 million if they designate it as a post-June 1 release).

ESPN.com Saints reporter Mike Triplett contributed to this report.
