FoxCatcher is slow and morose; but somewhat interesting. Strange casting that works too.

Would still recommend Whiplash.

Saw whiplash and I enjoyed it so much I had to watch it a second time.

Really spectacular. JK Simmons is a lock for best supporting actor, or he should be.

I am a big David Fincher fan, but I had this movie spoiled by some stupid article that I accidentally clicked on that had the spoiler in the first sentence.
Still worth watching. It's well made and acted.

There is a movie called Stretch on Netflix that was entertaining. Kind of silly in a Smoking Aces sort of way.

Sort of didn't enjoy Thelma. Contrived. Having said that, I the mood you are in prior to going determines much.

Edge of Tomorrow is on HBO now. Enjoyed it just as much as I did in the theater. Really good movie.

That movie flopped, but it reminded me of why Tom Cruise is such a star. The man has more charisma than most even when he isn't trying. Its a shame that the movie didn't make more money because it was one of his best recently. Although I thought Oblivion was underrated too. I liked Edge of Tomorrow enough that it convinced me to give Jack Reacher a try. I even enjoyed that one. Trying to work on the enthusiasm for Knight and Day though. Cruise is still cool enough that it is fun just to watch him run around and be cool for 2 hours. I think his movies have been getting punished for his religious beliefs. Is this how you become a Scientologist?

I have an idiot friend on FB that basically spilled some beans about the movie. I've been avoiding seeing the movies ever since.

The title is terrible though...the posters said Live. Die. Repeat. That should have been the title of the movie. He just came off of Oblivion, which was decent enough, but I think people were kind of tired of Cruise in the sci-fi type movie. The movie was smart, the action was excellent...and he and Blunt were excellent together.

He is right up there as far as my favorite actor goes...and you are right about the charisma. He puts everything into his roles as well...you see guys like Willis doing a money grab and sleepwalk through a role, but not Cruise. The MI franchise was one I did not see coming, but outside of the 2nd one, they have all been excellent. MI3 was flatout greatness.
