Jerry will know when Peterson will be available it will not be much of a gamble.
I agree...when he comes available it should be low cost and not much of a gamble.

Has a discovery schedule been established and a trial date been set for the lawsuit?

Until those things are put in place no one knows the timetable for a disposition.

All of those things can be settled well before camp, stop acting like he has a criminal case hanging over his head.

All of this will be worked out, just like the Rice situation, do you actually think the NFL wants to go to court?

You are completely out of line. I am not acting anything. I am wondering whether things will be resolved in time for the Dallas organization to have the time they need to make decisions. I am fully aware the the current issues are about the NFL commisioner's indefinite suspension

Murray is going to go out there and test the market no matter what the team does (unless we franchise him). I think the Cowboys front office have a number in mind for what they are going to offer Dez and they aren't going over that number, and he's not going to sign for what they want without waiting to see if someone else is willing to offer a lot more.

I agree. My response was regarding Jiggy' s comment that I was acing like there was some kind of criminal case pending on Petersen. I have no idea where that was coming from.

All this chatter about Peterson is pointless.

1) He's a Viking until released...even if that happens. Zimmer has stated he wants him back.

2) He is not eligible to even be reinstated until April 15. That is well after Free Agency begins and two weeks before the draft.

So, basically what people think is that we allow FA to hit, and expect what...the Vikings and the NFL to make up their minds in the two weeks before the draft?

Like he gets reinstated and bam is released?

Fact is, it will not be resolved until after FA has begun and pretty much finished and then the draft is looming.

Yeah, I can see it all working out perfectly so he gets cut, Jerry swoops in and gets his guy cheap.

C'mon, get real.

Oh yeah, that Jerry is always prepared for everything. He's never telegraphed anything and then been left holding the bag and panicking thereafter. Nope.

That's the point of my questions regarding everyone thinking he is a potential replacement for Murray. It is a very tight window even if the Vikings released him.

So true. I'm anxious to see what they do bit scared at the same time. Previous Jerry regimes would just hand it over to Randle and not think twice about anything else. Let's see if they have really turned the corner because neither Randle or Williams as a starter inspires confidence for me.

Peterson to Dallas has been in the media for quite some time and there is an affinity between Jerry and Peterson. Zimmer needs to say he wants him back because it shows good faith to the players currently on the roster, that he supports the players in dark times. Does not mean that is going to happen. It is the offseason and these are the types of discussions that take place.

While all of that is certainly true, it won't matter what Zimmer says if Peterson has made up his mind that he not only does not want to be part of the Vikings anymore (and it looks like that is certainly the case) and he makes a strong push to join the Cowboys where we already know he's shown interest in doing.

It could be a T.O. circa 2004 situation again where he makes it adamantly known what his intentions are. If Peterson pushes hard on his own side to make it happen, then I think it's going to unless he asks for the moon from a money standpoint.

I'd say if Jerry wants him he has already been talking to him. I wouldn't even be surprised if numbers haven't already been discussed if Jerry wants him bad enough.

I am curious as to what your plan is for the RB position...bring back Murray? Draft a RB? How would you handle it?
