I guess...you have Hackenberg, Kessler, and Hogan...but we'd have to be bad to get one of those. One can be developed of course, so that will have to be the hope. I am not saying don't address the position, I am just not enamored with what is available.
Connor Cook would like to say hello

this is fantastic news. We do not have to worry about coaches for 3 more years...i like that.

I think next year one of those 4 will drop to a late first rounder. If not it will be difficult to see what we will do for the future. We've already waited too long. I just don't want to see the days where we brought out about 10 different QB's in the span of 5 seasons again. I'd cry

I don't know about that. Another year like this one and Linehan will probably be looking at some head coaching offers. You can't block those.

I think the Cowboys have to take a QB this year. Romo looked a bit crumpled up after the Packer game and I truly believe he's a hit away from another back injury. I'm not taking away from his toughness, but it is what it is.

It would be a colossal shame not to have a good QB sitting behind Romo with the OL that's in place now.

A legit D with the offensive performance this team put together this year would be scary.

It would be a struggling year for the offense if Romo couldnt play.

If we don't take a QB high this year, we without a doubt have to take a serious look in FA. We just can't roll with Weeden again.

I do suppose if they think Vaughan has what it takes to be the #2 next year we just have to get a JAG for #3 or move Weeden there.

I still don't see why more people don't like Petty, at least compared to the sorry crop coming out this year.

And I wouldn't spend a seventh on that POS Winston.

Petty is a system guy and can't handle rush pressure. He has a very inflated grade and isn't worth the 2nd-3rd type things you see. Would I be upset if he was drafted in the 5ht or later...no. But the fact he is pretty much the fourth ranked QB shows you how weak this crop is. It is definitely not the year to look for a future starting QB.

I've watched him a lot and I don't agree. He can make pretty much every throw, and he's big enough and a decent athlete.

So many guys play in spreads anymore, I don't know that you can hold "system" against him.

I think the same about Mariota. And yeah, I don't like spread QBs. Can't find many that have been able to transition to the NFL.

Yeah, I've been saying all year I don't think Mariota is even close to being a pro QB yet. He's tall and fast, but his throwing needs all kinds of work.

I think the best thing going for him is he's supposed to be a great kid and a hard worker, so eventually I'm sure he'll be okay... But it may take a while.

So...you are skeptical about Mariota, yet think Petty can play.

Whatever, homer.
