Just think, had Dez just gone to the ground the catch isn't even reviewed. So, basically, they overturned the catch because he tried to score.

That's exactly what happened. Hell, not even that....if he just keeps the ball in his right hand it's still a catch.

But that was just bad luck, as was the Crawford tipped pass which 9 times out of 10 results in a clutch play that causes an incomplete that stops the clock. But with our luck, the tipped pass actually helped to complete the pass.

Shitty shitty luck for us down the stretch yesterday.

I'm thinking of re-watching Lost...so that is where yesterday left me.

So you're seriously saying we shouldn't have attempted a FG there? With our kicker? Stop. They said he was nailing from 50, 52, 54 pregame. So our best weapon, lets not use him in a playoff game because he missed a few kicks late?

Should we have punted or gone for it?

I really don't have much hope for a championship in the future.

Not with QBs like Aaron Rodgers blocking our path. He's better on one leg than a healthy Romo.

I guess we can hope for injuries.
Well what else is new? You have never displayed any hope for a championship at any time.

I would have gone for it...also, they noted that he tried some FGs at halftime around the same distance and he was not making them. The field was not great to kick off of either.

Can't be because that would be a football move. :art

Exactly. Just terrible that the game came down to that. Now, granted, they may have marched down the field after the score and taken back the lead, but it was a huge swing.

Ugh.
You also have to look at Romo's eyes. If he looks toward Beasley, #42 is ready to converge. If you have a choice in one on one matchups, I'll take Dez over Beasley, thank you.

Beasley is essentially wide open on that play, moving away from the guy trying to catch him. If Romo hadn't had his mind made up presnap where he was going with the ball that's an easy first to Beasley.

Yep, another terrible read by a second rate superstar QB.

Even if Rodgers marches his team back up the field for a score, that would be a lot easier to stomach than this crap! As I said before, the call not only robbed us of a historic play (it could have possibly ranked up there with "The Catch" had it stood and we scored and held on for the win), but it also robbed us of a great finish.

He always overlooks the underneath guy for the one streaking down the field. It's always been a flaw of his.

With that said, it's another reminder of how bad this coaching staff is at calling plays with so many deep routes on 3rd and 4th and short. It's a low percentage play and yet we call it all the time. If you don't have Bryant and Williams both running streaks, then Romo isn't tempted to throw it to them.

Lack of creativity, maybe?

Really?

If the refs don't F off that call and the play stands, you all are in here lauding Romo for having the guts to make the big play. But because the Refs make a bad call (and you don't wanna sound like a bunch of whiners), you want to find something else to bitch about.

Dude, Romo played well this year. Nothing can take that from him. But, what you see above is a terrible misread.

:lol

Oh my god, you are such a whiny little baby when it comes to Romo.

No one is criticizing him for it, it's just the truth. If you go back and look at the vast majority of his bad picks or turnover on downs incomplete passes, almost all end in him overlooking the underneath guy who's open in favor of throwing down the field.

Sorry to hurt your feelings, but it's the truth. And if you go back through the gameday thread and look, you'll find that as the catch was being reviewed, quite a few of us did not like the call even when we thought the play would stand.

We do that far too often when it isn't necessary.

It's not about what kind of year Romo had.

It's about getting the ball into the hands of your superstars. It's no different than Young/Montana trying to get it to Rice or Brady trying to get it to Moss.

Plus it wasn't like he was throwing into double coverage.
